with angel hair pasta. Was hoping the turkey would last just one more day so I'd have some asparagus to have with the shrimp. There is some turkey and cranberries left, but no more stuffing, so moving on to make the shrimp. Not sure what I'm going to serve with it now unless I throw some peas in with it.

Very disappointed that I didn't get candied fruit to make fruitcake. So, I bought a 1lb. fruitcake bar at the local grocery to have instead. A brand I'd never heard of, and we both spit it out without swallowing it. So awful, can't even describe the flavor. It was $7, so thinking of taking it back. Then a miracle! WM finally did list the candied fruit, and even for the regular price, not the jacked up price everyone else has it at. So put it in my cart and it was gone the next day.

I'll just have to cheer myself up that the anise oil I ordered from LorAnn to make more pizzelles and an electric blanket I ordered from BB&B will be here tomorrow just ahead of the stinkin' awful teens-down-to-single-digit temps and wet, windy weather. So, at least a couple things to be grateful for. Please hold a good thought that nothing goes awry with those.

ETA: I just remembered I have a mix of fresh broccoli, cauliflower and carrots I can serve with tonight's dinner.

roasted potatoes
steamed broccoli

Al's son and DIL gave us the roast a while back, and it's been in the freezer. Needs to be cooked. Big roast--going to get quite a few meals out of it.

cupcakes for dessert

Dad had steak w/ mushrooms and onions, roasted potatoes, and asparagus.

so leftovers for dinner

I just finished baklava, getting ready to cut a pan of 7 layer cookies, and made a batch of pretzel turtles. Have a regular loaf of bread rising. Tomorrow, I'll bake teacakes, spiced walnuts, chocolate chips, maybe almond flour gingerbread cookies with cream cheese frosting. Wednesday, dinner rolls for Th. I'll bake a little more the day after Christmas for company coming next week.

TJ ordered a couple of pizzas. My diet is out the window.

I did however greatly enjoy my sins.

We had a big lunch while out running errands and neither of us is interested in dinner tonight. We'll probably just graze on munchies a bit later tonight.
