What's for Dinner, Fri., April 9, 2024

Casual food: chips (dill pickle dip, Mexican corn dip), everything pizza, ribs with BBQ sauce, wings, bruschetta with white beans and radicchio. I'll have a little of each.

Tossed salad with lots of queso cheese, tomatoes, Persian cucumber, red onion, fresh garden celery. I'll have a lot of this!!

Kombucha: home brewed, flavored with blueberry pomegranate.

I'll be watching crime/political shows and munching on this and that. Not staying up too late, though, as I have to represent community and school gardens at a health fair tomorrow.

Here's my rabe from last night.

Wish there was some left. Couldn't reach the gemelli so had to use this short cut pasta.

made in 2+ decades, but it was right after a nap and it was too much for me. I might sprinkle some bar b que powder on it. First time I've tried lima beans in an Instant Pot, so decided to keep it simple. Cooked it with chopped onions and a bay leaf. Will be done soon.

Edited to add - its delicious. The bar b que powder is way old and tastes like plain salt, so didn't use it.

Cooking food in the most simple way can turn out to be absolutely delicious. Looks like you hit on this.
