So, I'm Making The Turkey Again This Year.

I got a few calls from relatives asking me if I would please make the turkey again this year. They said it was the best they ever had and they are all looking forward to it.

My mom is elderly and can't stand on her feet long enough to prepare a meal anymore but she insists on the family coming to her house for Thanksgiving. So last year I told her I would come over and make the turkey even though I had never made one before. I searched for a long long time online to find the best recipe for turkey and I found this one:

http://allrecipes.com/recipe/juicy-thanksgiving-turkey/detail.aspx

I thawed the turkey in the refrigerator for a few days before preparing it. The night before Thanksgiving I prepared the turkey substituting ginger ale for the champaigne the recipe called for and let it set in the the refrigerator to marinate in the roaster over night.

I'm sure most of you are practically experts when it comes to cooking a turkey, but in case there are any lurkers who are looking for a good turkey recipe this is a pretty good one.

Brisket along with latkes (potato pancakes) was our special dinner. A friend gave us a great recipe, included marinating overnight if possible.
