(18,791 posts)After we shoveled in dinner last night...we noted that we hardly made a dent in the stuff on the table.
So, we will be repeating, repeating, repeating the same dinner!
OH, but, just thought...maybe open faced, hot turkey sandwiches? Slathered in gravy?!

(175,776 posts)since I left all the leftovers at my niece's, except for what my niece-in-law took home for my nephew who had to work.
The bell pepper sounds good, but I'm a sucker for the whole turkey thing. The turkey (as well as cranberry, stuffing and gravy) are all on order, but it's not being delivered until tomorrow (I'm still not going to the grocery store), otherwise I'd be tempted to cook it today.

(31,170 posts)Bill looked at the store for me earlier and they had NONE. No fresh berries either, just cases and cases of berries in sauce.
I like the jellied on sandwiches - and since I did cook this year, I didn't have any on hand. :]

(175,776 posts)though I do like Vietnamese food. In my old neighborhood, I lived about a mile from one of Chicago's two Chinatowns -- this area also had some excellence Vietnamese restaurants.

(106,886 posts)When I did restaurant work in the DC suburbs a co-worker and I would occasionally ride into to Arlington for a meal. He was Vietnamese. (Arlington has the 3rd largest Vietnamese population outside of Viet Nam and France.)
It was usually diner food. No menu, specials posted on a wall board, only Vietnamese and French spoken. Our host, Khan, ordered for all. The spring rolls were a gem. Thin rice flour rolls wrapped tight (like a taquito), filled with lemon grass, shrimp, some radish, scallions and citrus.

(31,170 posts)A friend has requested Bill cook Chinese on his next day off, and I can't wait!
I do wish we had a take-out place close by, that would rock.
