What's for Dinner, Sat., April 2, 2016

What's cookin' in DU kitchens today? I'm both cooking and gardening, two of my favorite things to do.

My stir fry was so good last night that I've decided to do some fried rice today.

Love that Asian food.

There will probably be other things I'll make up, too, like salad dressings and the like. One I have planned is chipotle ranch salad dressing.

And I don't know what else. Went to the market yesterday and forgot vegetables. Well, not totally true. The bunny got his organic spring mix, baby carrots, and blueberries. The cat got his $20 bag of Blue cat food. Maybe the bunny will share some salad with us

I just came home with some salad greens from the nursery that are about 4" tall.

I really just went out for some fresh seed, which I also purchased.

The bunny should share his salad: salad and steak, yum.

Can't wait! And the bunny is sharing. I found some asparagus buried in the fridge that I steamed with a little onion and stirred it into a lemon/garlic vinaigrette I whipped up. Good dressing for the bunny greens he loaned us and I'll schlep back to town tomorrow (50 mile round trip ) for veggies

Leftovers day. A liitle of this and that, not too particular since a bottle of vino will be involved.

I'll save cooking for tomorrow.

ps: I counted 5 wild bunnies in my backyard this morning. The record was 13, about 2 yrs ago. Two of which today were spring newbies (everyone say "awwwwww"...) The juvenile coyote who comes around now and then still is totally clueless as to the bunnies presence in the bushes, thankfully.

Ground beef with sauteed onions and taco seasonings. Served over organic corn chips with shredded Habanero Jack cheese on top.
Dessert was Blackberry pie with Alden's Vanilla Bean ice cream.
