What's for Dinner, Fri., Feb. 3, 2017

Sicilian citrus salad. Beautiful pic of it. I couldn ‘t find Cara Cara oranges, though.

And another one of those Asian soup bowls like I made last night. They were so good! I made two different types: one was shrimp, with a seafood-based broth, and the other pork.

Tonight I picked up bean sprouts, spinach leaves, and some other things I forgot. One item that made it so delicious was the chopped avocado. That goes in again. The noodles turned out so fantastic because I used thin noodles and then warmed them slowly in sesame oil. I also put hot pepper on them. They got very crisp.

I've started a pot of beans with some ham stock and ham I had in the freezer. I will be adding the usual veggies. I'm also looking at a half head of cabbage that needs eating soon. I may just cut some cabbage wedges and set them in the soup to cook when it is nearly done.

Also a side of salad and garlic toast.

But, I haven't decided what I want. It is a choice between Mongolian beef or Orange chicken.

I use quotes because I found a 1/2 bag of tater tots in the freezer this morning. So, I'll deep fry the cod, and with any leftover batter, makes onion rings. Homemade tartar sauce, and I just made a classic slaw.

Of all the things I ate during my trip back to Rhode-y, I neglected the fish n' chips. Sigh....

So I'm making up for it. Heck, I even cleaned out the fry daddy and replaced the Crisco. I'm ready to roll!

EDIT: I also made an octopus and shrimp ceviche this morning, loaded with avocado. When we have a sale on avos (6 for a buck), it's time to make the best of it. I love SoCal....

Will grill the eggplant slices so it has a smokey flavor, plus easier to throw on grill for 5 min or so. Other veggies in it: mushroom/spinach/peppers/onion...heck maybe grill everything but spinach and throw it together?

I tossed a small green salad to eat with the Alfredo Pasta I made. Chicken, mushrooms, cauliflower, garlic, parmesan cheese, cream, nutmeg.
