3. Thanks for posting this. I have a shelter kitty now but have had several strays prior to this kitty.

My first kitty lived with us for 12 years, the second for 14. Both came to us as strays, showed up at the back door crying.
The second kitty had been abused, she was in need of a great deal of medical care and pulled through. I miss her. I don't know how old either stray was but I can assure you that they had a good life(spoiled!)

Six Years ago, I adopted my current kitty from a shelter. My husband passed a way and I waited 2 years before deciding I needed a feline companion. My kitty is a great friend, demands nothing but tummy rubs, gives me more comfort and companionship than I can express. The trip to the shelter broke my heart. So many wonderful animals waiting for homes.

Cats are not an expensive pet, food and litter is affordable, even to me(I live on SS only). My town does an annual rabies vaccination for a reasonable price. I would be lost without my kitty. Sometimes it takes a while to realize that a cat is just what you need!

Brought tears to my eyes too, though.

My ornjbois have both been shelter adoptees.

Talk about gifts!

Just reminds me, I need to send the local shelter another donation.

happily,
Bright

After an early evening nap, he'll get up and chase around the house with his favorite toy mouse, putting it under things like the edge of a rug, and then fishing it out again. Then leap to the top of the cat tree in just two bounds! And pretty smart, too: if I say, "where's your mouse?" he will know exactly what I'm talking about and go looking for it. (He is a shelter cat and is 2 years old.)
