Damn, the freestyle half-pipe is such a great exhibition of how style and athletics change and ehance the idea of skiing....

(1,386 posts)I'vd skied for over 50 years, tried snowboarding with my kid who is an expert, couldn't get the hang of it. Have been watching freestyle skiing since the 1970s, when it was a fringe sport, remember ski ballet?
I agree these kids are amazing, you're a kid to me Shawn White...

(4,100 posts)Why don't the snowboarders were more aerodynamic clothes? Seems like the baggy suits wouldn't be the best thing to wear. And the hoods , why? Just curious....

(24,784 posts)My earliest remembrances of snowboarders....snow boots with heavy sweater/baggy windbreaker and a Burton Board. Always was...the style stayed as the sport evolved.
