Chipper Jones will announce today that he's calling it quits after this season.

Hell of a ball player.

LAKE BUENA VISTA — Chipper Jones will announce today that he's calling it quits after this season.

The Atlanta Braves' third baseman will hold a press conference at 11:30 a.m. at ESPN's Wide World of Sports Complex, where the Braves will later take on the Miami Marlins in a spring training game.

Jones, who is preparing for his 19th season in the league, has played with the Braves his entire career since being drafted by the team in 1990.

He has 454 home runs, 1,561 RBIs and a .304 batting average for his career and ranks first in club history in nearly every major offensive category, but knee troubles have plagued Jones in recent years.

Actually, it's pretty cool that he spent his whole career with one team. He may well be the last.

Ryan Zimmerman is likely to spend his whole career as a National. His contract is until 2019 and after that he's got a 5 year deal to work for the Nats in the front office.

Even though he is the greatest Marlin killer ever.

He was one helluva great player and person. You never saw him complain.
