Guardians #2 prospect gets a start; top hitter Kwan on the I.L. (4 weeks)

Kyle Manzardo debuts batting 7th in the lineup as DH vs. Detroit today in Cleveland.

Guards have big hopes for this guy. He was acquired in trade with Tampa Bay for RHP and starter Aaron Civale in July 2023.

In AAA, Manzardo was hitting .303 with 9 home runs -- an OBS of 1.017. He plays 1B.

Kwan injured a hamstring May 4th in a home game vs. the Angels.

Go get 'em Kyle.

He's been hard to hit this season.

Tonight, it was a very shaky Kenta Maeda for 2 innings. Because Manzardo bats 7th, he wound up going up against some pretty good quality relievers.

Tomorrow night, it's the young but promising Reese Olson starting for the Tigers. Not sure if things will get much better for Mr. Manzardo.

However, the next series is against the woeful Chicago White Sox. If Manzardo can't collect some hits there, it won't bode well.
