Why I like Science (#2)It can lead you to deep places in the world
Some which may be dangerous
...places on this Earth (as made by human activity)
Where the hand-prints of previous inhabitants can be readily seen
Including some expressions of positive human emotions and sentiments
Right next to not-so-positive human emotions and sentiments
but still to jobs where you to get paid to
and deploy cool stuff
and collect data
from many locations
And then you get to make maps
to show where you have been
And, to show where you should focus your remedies
(Jackpot! Concentrations of Vinyl Chloride in groundwater, baby!)
or maybe to avoid in order to live well (as the case may be)
Either way the lesson is, whether you are in a lab or in the field, you can do Science, and thus
Everyday Can Be Science Day

This is a follow-up post to my 1st "Why I like Science" post back in late April 2015,

which was fairly well received.
