Related: About this forumThread art and other Japanese things
Today at the grocery store, an elderly Japanese man who was standing behind me in line asked me if I spoke English. When I told him I did, he then asked me if I would be interested in looking at his web site which was in English and showed examples of his thread art. I said, Well, OK, sure, so when I had some time, I took a look at it and found it to be pretty interesting. The web site covers more than just thread art-- it also features a mish-mash of art and other things Japanese, as well as a few things non-Japanese. For example, there are photos of a Canadian couple's trip to Japan, including a trip to Kyoto and the base of Mount Fuji, some performances of classical works by Japanese musicians, lots of photos of a typical Japanese temple, Japanese folding fans, cute o-bento boxed lunches, animals, and other things. If you have any interest in Japan or things Japanese, then this site will probably have something of interest for you.
