If Bernie can win 3 or even 4 states tonight, that really will be awesome news!

This is the best date on the primary calendar for Hillary. If Bernie can come out of it with a handful of victories, that is nothing short of fantastic. Going forward the calendar becomes *much* more favorable for Bernie. The wins will start rolling in, and Bernie will pull ahead nationally.

he has to sweep practically every race coming up by a good solid maturity to win the nomination and he has no chance of doing so

MA: 51-48 for Clinton at 73% reporting, so it's looking bad for a win but a good delegate split.

I can't see Sanders coming anywhere close to the number of delegates he needs to secure the nomination. The next 2 Tuesdays will also be good nights for Clinton more than likely. Bernie's delegate deficit is getting steeper and steeper in spite of him likely winning 4 states tonight.

Also, winning a state makes for a helpful narrative, but tonight's states aren't winner-take-all, so Clinton is picking up delegates even in states that she's losing.

Basic math says Clinton is going to win the nomination with ease.

I don't think a lot of DUers understand how the primary process works.

It's kinda embarassing actually.

I'm serious. where can he make up tonight's deficit by taking BIG wins out of Clinton? There's no path for him that doesn't involve really beating the tar out of her somewhere, but I don't know where that is.

There are quite a few winner-take-all states starting March 15th, meaning you get every delegate even if you win by just 1 vote. That's the only reason Rubio is still considered viable, though he's having a bad Super Tuesday. The problem for Sanders is he's not likely to win many, if any, of those winner-take-all states. So, yeah, the race is essentially over.

I'm quite pleased even if he squeaks out a win there, because Clinton wins ties.
