2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumTYT discusses the racist manipulations used by Hillary in the 2008 campaign against Obama.
Perhaps if more POC were made aware of this, they wouldn't be such staunch Hillary backers.
The discussion of racism begins around the 2:30 mark.
The photoshopped images that Cenk talks about can be found here ...

I was a Hillary supporter in 2008, until she started with this sh*t. Then I switched to the other guy.

(1,642 posts)you could not have seen the video or even given any thought to it.
This renders your opinion as the equivalent of pissing into the wind.
Racism in ALL forms needs to be called out by ALL people at ALL times.

(1,508 posts)This of course will make some believe you are trying to get their vote by saying they don't know the facts about Hillary Clinton. These are the facts about her and racism and her racist tactics throughout the years. Thanks for posting this!

(27,847 posts)I don't feel like watching 2:30 of clickbait.

(1,642 posts)If you can't click on a video, you just can't be bothered.
LisaM
(27,847 posts)I'm not going to click on a freaking video! For cripe's sake! I was reading my phone on a bus at the time, and I just don't want to start up a video.
We're going to have to agree to disagree here, because I really dislike when I go to any news source and someone wants me to view a video (not personal to you, actually). I'd prefer my content to be a little more disseminated.
earthshine
(1,642 posts)Yes, make sense.
Calling it clickbait does not make sense.
These are not simple quotes. There's minutes of stuff there.
Peace.
LisaM
(27,847 posts)Now I'm never going to click on the video on principle, and you're never going to tell me what it says!
Winning.
earthshine
(1,642 posts)Now you're just arguing without argument.
How is making the principle of this a productive thing?
For me, this is literally yesterday's news.
At this point, no one else is on this thread.
The last word can be yours. Come and get it, for I will not be answering you again.

(27,847 posts)I do, however, prefer reading content to watching it.

(11,945 posts)and has since 2008. Politically, he can't show it. Neither can Elizabeth Warren.
At about 7:00 Cenk starts pointing out how Hillary gears each message to the demographic in the next primary and then comes to the OBVIOUS conclusion that Hillary is a "robot" who does not mean anything she says, that her pursuit, her goal is POWER, period.
Then he points out that Bernie doesn't change his message to appeal to the next primary electorate. IOW, she's manipulating, Bernie's not. Bernie talks from the heart.
These guys understand what's happening.
I would be curious to know how many of Hill's DU supporters are fully aware of what she's doing and likewise gearing their comments/OPs to the same end. If so, there's no point in engaging them. Countering them, maybe. But the likelihood of meaningful discussion seems almost nil.

(11,945 posts)The first disruption was by a hardcore Hill fan who found the tape threatening to their candidate and attempted to dismiss it using code words, etc. The point is to get a lot of junk comments on the thread to bury your message.
I'm sorry this happened to your thread. It's hard to get the truth out there under these circumstances. Try to understand that some people, like their candidate, don't play fair, and we have to work around them.
(I started my first comment awhile back but was interrupted by a phone call. Was surprised to see what had happened to the thread.)

(1,642 posts)We sure need a new, new deal.
A lot of Bernie supporters do this stuff to pro-Hillary posts, as well. <sigh> It's primary season.
I don't actually believe Hillary's a racist, as such. Just that she blows dog whistles to get votes. It's still of form of racism.
Obama needs the Clintons or his legacy is going to be toast. (It's already very tarnished in my opinion. TPP, chained CPI, war on whistleblowers, expansion of security state, drone wars, selection of Republicans to prominent positions, and so much more.)
The Clintons would continue these policies, and thus continue the spin that this is what it means to be progressive.
At this level of government, I think they all despise each other at a personal level.
Cheers to you.
