(13,685 posts)Who knew there are so many socialists in Kansas?
sabrina 1
(62,325 posts)in today's world. Kansas sure ought to cause them to drop it at this point. Shows you how out of touch these old smearmongers are with real people.
Young people WANT a Democratic Socialist Govt by 7 out of 10.
I'm happy to let them keep dredging up out of touch talking points though, they seem to backfire on them every time.

(13,685 posts)They were talking about how Bernie can't win because: socialism.
I said, ""Good, we need to talk about it. Look at that road, and the parks and libraries and schools: socialism.""
A light bulb flashed and they said, "Yeah, I get social security".

(1,377 posts)credit. She sat and watched how Bush won in 2004 first time with dirty tricks. I mean her was a sitting POTUS who had used privilege to get out of Vietnam going up against a Vietnam veteran who fought on a SwiftBoat. Pay off a few veterans and have them change narrative so that some how it became like being on rivers in Vietnam on a Swiftboat was more cowardly than sitting in TX Air National Guard and some sources said AWOL to boot.
So HRC saw Sanders was doing better than she thought, a virtual tie in first state which they thought would of been a blow out. Then he won next one!!! And OMG SC is coming up it is Heavily African America population for Dems, And she was going up against a guy who was active during Civil Right movement of 60s and on right side of history too boot(Dang and working on Goldwater campaign, who would of thought it would come back to Haunt you). Also he supported and endorsed Jesse Jackson the first major party black candidate to run nationwide primary campaigns, only white politician to do this. Ruff spot to be in for Hillary.
Oh wait Hillary I got a idea, let use get a bunch of African American leaders who you can threaten, bribe and intimate to endorse you and say "I never saw Sanders during civil rights" and also spread the narrative the he does not understand African American Issues, even though African American are not some robotic hive mind and all have different issues, just like other people. Hmm that might not be enough let us also have our media helpers spread the narrative that Bernie Sanders supporters are all "young white men" because that a might work as a good dog whistle like GOP uses when talking about "young black males" <insert racist comment usually how they are thugs or on drugs> and we can site source of it as twitter(Let us just hope no one remembers you can make a twitter account easily)
And it worked. THANK YOU Karl Rove you taught Clinton well.

(40,416 posts)It's a pattern , but one that might not repeat. Fifty years is what... 12 elections?
So what does that mean that the Democrats in Kansas have some kind of Ju-Ju going on?
It works until it doesn't work. Then it will drop off the top of the list. That's how these things work. Some state has to be first.
This Bernie supporter is not impressed.

(37,573 posts)Did Kansas pick the winner in 2000? and 2004? and 2012?
Uh, no. The nominee was already decided by the time Kansas voted.
What about 1996?
Boy there was a contested primary, eh? And Kansas picked Clinton.
And who could forget the primary of 1980? Amazingly Kansas picked the winner there too.
It's easy to pick the winner when you vote late and rubber stamp the bandwagon.

(4,211 posts)Bernie's in it until the end. You know what else? There's a very high likelihood that she will face an indictment. And then, it really will be over.

This is about as meaningful as that one college straw poll that was meaningful to Berners a few months back for some reason

(3,212 posts)in the counts, and this has not been done before.
Unfortunately, it highly discourages Sanders votes, especially lower-information types.
I have begun turning off the tv everytime someone gives the delegate count including the super delegates.
onenote
(42,821 posts)Yes, the media has included super delegates and pledged delegates in comparing where candidates stand.

TexasMommaWithAHat
(3,212 posts)Never. The talking heads use to talk about the super delegates and give the count, but not like now when they are added to the count with not a mention that the count includes super delegates. I've seen this several times, and I don't watch a lot of tv.
onenote
(42,821 posts)shouldn't count.
But Sanders winning a state that has voted for a Democrat in the GE exactly once since 1940 somehow is a decisive victory?

(10 posts)Hi Hissyspit,
LOVE that you're sharing this important data-- 50 years of election results are not insignificant, and as our access to data grows exponentially, our ability to decipher it becomes more and more detrimental!
Would you be able to edit your original post to provide credit to the Analytics@American program for creating the infographic? The blog post also provides more insight into caucus and primary season; it's a very interesting read.

Everyone else-- eyes on the upcoming elections! Next up: Hawaii, Idaho, Michigan, and Mississippi on Tuesday, March 8.
