2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumDid Clinton just throw Obama under the bus re: Israel?
Listening to her speech, it sure sounded like she was resoundingly rejecting Obama's efforts to be an honest broker and to be somewhat even handed in his treatment of Israel and the rest of the ME.
It's no secret that he has been skeptical of NethenYahoo's ultra conservative hawkishness.
But it sure sounds like Clinton and Benny are planning a lovefest, and she's got her feathers and wings waiting to be donned.

$4.00+g gasoline will certainly plunge us into recession. Low energy prices are the main reason we haven't slide back into one already.
Prepared accordingly...

Obama's decision to walk away from that shitshow was one of the smartest things the US has ever done.
I'd even be okay with Clinton saying we support Israel no matter what, it's up to the Israelis and Palestinians to figure this out, leave us out of it.
But, this was just awful.
Jefferson23
(30,099 posts)words today were powerful, and speaks to the confidence she has that her supporters
who will not give her any substantial push back on what should be seen as outrageous
rhetoric. When you take the unnecessary step and go to the right of Trump to score
political points you've sunk to a new low.
I am not looking forward to more of this, not at all.

The only solace is that this is pretty obvious pandering, so who knows how much of it she'll actually enact.
Jefferson23
(30,099 posts)has seriously dangerous flaws. If I leave out Iraq, which I should not do but give
her the ultimate gift of the past is the past? I am still left with her present
propensity for military action.
With that said, regarding the I/P conflict, no US President imho is likely to ever
spend the political capital it would take to ensure the Palestinians end up with
a viable state. They're on their own..their only chance would be if the I/P
conflict disrupted our US interests..then the WB would begin to be vacated
pronto. Or perhaps the Palestinians unite away from their leaders and advance
a massive civil disobedience campaign...maybe then.
It is a terrible reality and deep stain on America.

He's a murderer, a thug, a racist bigot and a theif. Before all that he is an apartheidist asshole.
Obama was right to distance himself from Bibi the baby killer.

I guess that is what happens when, as some here at DU have argued, what the remaining Democrats in this country think about you no longer matters.

When she needed the rust belt vote, she lied about Bernie voting against the auto bailout, even after Forbes said it was an outright lie. Until that voting was over.
She will say and do anything.

I don't think at all she is throwing Obama under the bus anyway. That is just the kind of hyperbolic invective that gets tossed around here when Hillary and Israel are in focus.
