2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumBernie and Hillary supporters finally coming together---Thank you Bill Clinton!
It's been a rough couple of months here at DU---Bernie and Hillary wars have been intense.
Finally something we all can agree on---Republican Obstructionism.
Bill Clinton highlighted that yesterday and really took it to the Republicans for doing everything they could to hurt President Obama.
No matter if you are a Bernie supporter or Hillary supporter---we know obstructionism when we see it and that is why we are all on the same page with Bill's line of attack.
I say keep highlighting their obstructionism and use it as a campaign slogan.
Of course the Republicans will probably think that they didn't obstruct anything and that he was talking about something else---but we know better---don't we?

And shame on both of them for running to the right of Barack Obama on foreign policy.

(22,675 posts)Republis and Quasi-Bernie supporters only know how to double down when they're on their heels. Big tent Democrats know better. Thank you for pointing that out!
Bill Clinton's speech yesterday rocked the house and it sent Drudge, The Weekly Standard, and the Republi war machine into high gear disseminating two versions of that shill Breitbart style 24 & 39 second clip. Those online outlets and the videos themselves made false claims. Crooks and Liars and CNN quickly called them out on it. Doh!
Reminiscent of 1990's republi tactics, some of those who wanted the Republi talking point to be true and who looked away when Clinton spent 45 minutes attacking Republis and Republi policies over the past 15 years, were too embarrassed to retract their comments, then made shameful alerts to DU'ers who called them out for being duped shills of the Republi repeating message machine.
I watched his 45 minute speech yesterday. I know there were a number of democratic Bernie supporters who at first were duped, quickly ceased their campaigns once they saw that Clinton's inclusion message had nothing to do with the said attacks, as was claimed. As you can see, it didn't stop the George Bush supporters from falling in line here on DU with the republi message. You'll do most anything when your guy is ranked in the bottom 9 of worst presidents in U.S. history, while the guy that expanded the middle class, President Bill Clinton, is ranked as the 8th BEST President in U.S. history. Seems to climb a notch every year, while ol' Bushie-boy keeps dropping. I guess Bubba's speech about inclusion and bringing Americans together was like salt on the wound and if there's enough republi toting shills on here, you can push your way around with some lucky 4-3 decisions. But I have news for them. We have a backbone, contrary to their kind. Du'ers aren't stupid and we will not be silenced from defending democrats at every turn. DU'ers are kick-ass critical thinkers who know right from wrong and will call republis out whenever a democrat is falsely smeared: Bernie Hillary
Let's put an end to republi-obstructionism and come together, like president Bill Clinton said yesterday. Together we'll run the tables in 2016.
Thank you HRC and Bernie supporters! Keep up the good fight.

(41,692 posts)I had to step away for a bit to compose myself. Tears are streaming down my face--- bottle of Jack in my hand.
I really thought this was our come together moment---both sides fighting the enemy---winning the battle---ticker tape parades on 5th Avenue---random strangers kissing.

policies in place.
We added about 9.2 trillion to the national debt in the last 8 years. It is at $19 trillion up from $9.8 trillion when President Obama took office. >104% of GDP.
Corporate profits are at an historic high while workers wages as a share haven't been this low since 1929.
We have 46 million living in poverty, our schools anf infrastructure are in decay and the middle class is spiraling down the toilet
