LOL. So Bernie gets invited/invites himself to some obscure conference and tries to

pretend that the Pope personally invited him to the Vatican in order to canonize him.

I guess he wants to make sure that his Pinocchio record is safe for the next 50 years.

Papal official denies report Sanders invited himself to Vatican

VATICAN CITY/WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was invited to speak at an April 15 Vatican event by the Vatican, a senior papal official said on Friday, denying a report that Sanders had invited himself.

"I deny that. It was not that way," Monsignor Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo told Reuters in a telephone interview while he was traveling in New York. Sorondo, a close aide to Pope Francis, is chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, which is hosting the event.

He said it was his idea to invite Sanders.

A Bloomberg report quoted Margaret Archer, president of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, as saying that Sanders had broken with protocol by failing to contact her office first.

"This is not true and she knows it. I invited him with her consensus," said Sorondo, who is senior to Archer.

Mr Sanders, who is Jewish, accepted an invitation to Rome for a conference at the end of next week.

The Vatican visit is four days before the primary contest in New York, a competitive battle between him and front-runner Hillary Clinton.

Instead of criticizing Sanders for trying to ally with a couple billion Catholics to discuss economic and environmental justice, why not use your efforts to ask Hillary to take a break from meeting with Wall St CEO's, turn off the white noise machines, and set up a meeting with social groups such as Planned Parenthood (maybe she can get them to support her on explaining the ins and outs of being a good feminist while fighting against a woman's right to control her health decisions?)

Now, if He is doing this as a US Senator then the dynamics change. He has already deployed His Senate parachute.

Or, maybe, someone told Him that he lost the nomination so He told Jane to "pack your bags, we're going to Italy". Oh, and which version of Him is paying for this? The Senator or the Guy driving around the country on His Scooter Pulpit?

A few snarky posts...okay. Business as usual.

But so many many posts, and so many many convoluted conspiracy theories and obsession with a spat between Vatican officials.

It just seems to lack all proportionality.....So I can only conclude there is more to the reaction than meets the eye.

Second, you know this was debunked much earlier today.

This OP even was juried but apparently the alerter was too lazy to add any comments (always an indication of a frivilous alert IMO).
