Area Leader
Hillary Clinton Campaign
July 2007 February 2008 (8 months)
Participated in organizational campaign conference calls led by Hillary Clinton. Utilized the campaigns online call-center/database to contact individual voters regarding voter needs and awareness.
Now, it is possible that he might have become a Democratic Socialist after leaving the Clinton campaigns employ, but he posted this on Twitter in 2015:
Sosas Twitter timeline is full of tweets in which he complains about Sanders supporters harassing him. But, in the words of a former boss, Bernie Bros are like unicorns, we all know what they look like, but no one has actually seen one.
How likely is it he was ever a Democratic Socialist who switched allegiance to Hillary Clinton? You decide.

(133 posts)In fact, I don't trust a lot of "progressive" sites. But I did see the original piece when it appeared...how could he "be done" with Sanders?
And now this latest news, which I wouldn't have seen you not referenced it here.
Chris Sosa is a disingenuous dirt-bag. Hell, with people like that on one's side, I wonder how they face the mirror each new day.
Thanks for posting this. I'm sickened by it, but now more informed.

(47,209 posts)I firmly believe that those using terms like "Stockholm Syndrome" and "Low info voters" are nothing but rat fuckers.
The progressive people I know in real life are not that stupid or mean.

(57,349 posts)More than one has compared him to Hitler, I saw another post a rabidly anti-Semitic article from a Holocaust denier's website, yet another post the Yiddish n-word, one accused Bernie of being funded by Israel, another called him Israel's #1 shill, one went off on Jews using hate speech at another website, and one super awesome Hillary supporter called him "an old crusty Jew". Then there are the ones who question the race of PoC and the gender of women who support Bernie.
And if you go elsewhere you'll see even worse from her supporters.
Glad you asked.

(57,349 posts)And thanks for saying that, I agree, both sides are guilty of over the top rhetoric and it needs to be called out by everyone. Juries need to step up and hide the worst of the crap.

(45,319 posts)The Jew baiting has been allowed to go uncontested and those who have openly used slurs were welcomed back by Skinner to continue their work. It's just a fact.
Stockholm thread was aimed at LGBT as well, and I sure let that rat fucker know what I thought in great detail. So did BMUS. I never, ever see a Clinton supporter stand up to the rat fuckers posing as Hillary supporters.
We have had more than one poster who spent months bashing at Bernie relentlessly who was then found to be bigoted against Jews. So they come to bash the minority candidate because they hold bias against that minority and that is allowed by DU and protected by basher's cohort and that is very and fully wrong.

(24,411 posts)super-duper amazing strategy to finally beat Bernie, "Disqualify, Defeat and then Unify."
This must be part of the "Disqualify" portion of the show, I'm guessing.
It's riveting and so effective!

Never, because she will always be fond of war and fracking and those trade gouges and is a Third Way Neoliberal war hawk. So nothing about Bernie could persuade me to support that stuff. ISSUES.

(9,688 posts)didn't even bother to set up some kind of base.
So I'm agreeing with the OP. To quote from the source:
"Chris Sosa wrote a piece for Salon entitled Im done with Bernie Sanders: Why this democratic socialist is voting for Hillary Clinton. There is nothing unusual about people changing their political bents, especially in their youth. The problem? Its author, Chris Sosa, is a Clinton 08 campaign alum."
As a frequenter of DU and esp. so of DU discussion of issues related to Sanders, you know that most "I'm done with Bernie" and "I'm a Bernie supporter, but..." OPs are preceded by some kind of commitment statement to the Sanders group at DU. There's some attempt to make a front, first. Then there's the "but I'm ready for Hillary now!" OP. Like MM. This Salon guy didn't see a need for even that, and Salon agreed publishing that kind ofr purest bullshit, not even supported by a pretense, is OK.
That's part of what I'm saying.
(eta: OH! I just realized that you might be most confused about my direct question "How come you aren't cashing in?".
That's a question I would ask ANYONE. I think money in US politics is so unleashed that I wonder how anyone could resist.
I don't mean how can anyone resist until they're offered the opportunity, I mean how can anyone resist after they've been offered the opportunity. Although the question was addressed to you, I didn't mean it "personally", as some kind of accusation. I meant it generally.)
cui bono
(19,926 posts)I honestly don't see how it is possible for anyone to switch their support from a movement candidate who is about breaking up the banks and getting money out of politics - real change - to someone who is beholden to that very thing. It's inconceivable.

"Im a Liberal Democrat. Im Voting for Rand Paul in 2016. Here Is Why."

H. A. Goodman
<snip>
"Rand Paul is my candidate in 2016, even though the Tea Party would consider me Joseph Stalins love child. Im for immigration reform and believe that illegal immigrants benefit this country. Ive written many articles criticizing Tea Party paranoia. Im against demagoguery from people like Paul Ryan who unfairly target inner city citizens and Im for the federal legalization of gay marriage and marijuana. I think Ted Cruz is a buffoon and that we should listen to Stephen Hawking over Senator Green Eggs and Ham on climate change. Finally, Ive also written two novels about the evils of religious fundamentalism and political demagoguery."
<snip>
"Ive never voted for a Republican in my life, but in 2016, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul will be my choice for president. On issues that affect the long-term survival of this country; grandiose concerns like perpetual war that could send generations of Americans fighting and dying in the Middle East, domestic spying that could eventually lead to a police state, and numerous other topics, Rand Paul has shown that he bucks both the Republican and Democratic penchant for succumbing to public opinion, an overreaction to the terror threat, and a gross indifference to an egregious assault on our rights as citizens."

It then seems that Mr. H. A. Goodman had a major change of heart.

"If the pope could endorse a candidate, he'd pick Bernie Sanders"
By H.A. Goodman, contributor
<snip>
"If he could, Pope Francis would endorse Bernie Sanders for president. I don't mean to speak on behalf of the world's most recognizable religious leader, but when you compare the political philosophy of both Sanders and Francis, theres only one conclusion: Sanders best fits his view of the world."
