http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/vice-president-joe-biden-woman-elected/story?id=38312756Vice President Joe Biden is refraining from endorsing a candidate in the 2016 race, but in an interview with Mic, the vice president said he's ready to see a women elected president.
"This country's ready for a woman. There's no problem. We're going to be able to elect a woman in this country," Biden said.
Asked if he would like to see a woman elected, Biden replied, "I would like to see a woman elected."
An aide to Biden quickly chimed in, saying, "That's it," but the vice president elaborated, explaining that he will not offer an endorsement in the 2016 race.
"The president and I are not going endorse because we both, when we ran, said, 'Let the party decide.' But gosh almighty, they're both qualified," Biden said of Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. "Hillary's overwhelmingly qualified to be president."

(135,425 posts)Please--stand on the sidelines of history. Do it proudly, too!
When your grandchildren ask you if you were proud to be able to vote for the first woman president, you can either tell them that you flounced off in a huff, or you can lie to them.
Good luck with that!

(1,947 posts)is fracking a democratic principle? Is regime change? Are private prisons? Is citizen's united? Is keystone pipeline? Were NAFTA and TPP? Is it a democratic principle to not fight for minimum wage workers but instead give up the fight before the battle. Don't attempt to shame me when you yourself have none, and by none, I mean none!

Sanders voted TWICE for regime change in Iraq--but it's OK when Berrrrrnie does it? Vermont jails damn near every black person arrested in that state...and sends them to private prisons in Michigan. Where's Bernie speaking up on THAT issue? Crickets!!!
Give me a break. You obviously have no shame, so I won't waste my time trying to shame you! LOL!!
Bernie toast is BERNT. I can't wait until the primaries are over and we have our nominee--then we can get down to the business of electing SECSTATE Clinton.

(1,947 posts)the kids ain't voting for that piece of work. Sanders gave you new voters she would've never received with her uninspiring coronation, and she is going to even screw that up. As stated, good luck. She won't get my vote, money, phone banking, canvassing, nada, zilch, zero. Call it payback for thirty years of her type of democrats moon pounding us.

(47,803 posts)Vice President Joe Biden offered effusive praise for Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders Monday, lauding Hillary Clinton's chief rival for doing a "heck of a job" on the campaign trail and praising Sanders for offering an authentic voice on income inequality.
And while Biden said Democrats had a slate of "great candidates" running for president, he suggested Clinton was a newcomer to issues like the growing gap between rich and poor.
"Bernie is speaking to a yearning that is deep and real. And he has credibility on it," Biden said during an interview with CNN chief political analyst Gloria Borger.
"It's relatively new for Hillary to talk about that," Biden continued, acknowledging that Clinton has "come forward with some really thoughtful approaches to deal with the issue" of income inequality.
"Hillary's focus has been other things up to now, and that's been Bernie's -- no one questions Bernie's authenticity on those issues," he said.

(135,425 posts)It's "too east coast" for starters. It's also too much in the same age range. There needs to be contrast on the ticket, and for that reason, I doubt she'd be asked, and I doubt she expects to be asked, either.
And, were she asked, she'd likely refuse.

(135,425 posts)candidates winning public office--and saying that makes you puke makes me wonder about you. You haven't said anything to assuage my concerns though, have you?
I can stand in front of a mirror and proudly say I would like to see a Congress that represents our society--so when the Senate and the House are fifty percent populated with women, and the same goes for local legislatures as well, I'll feel that we're there. Until then, I'll continue to advocate for more diversity in public electoral life.
The idea of women in charge doesn't make me puke. Sorry you have a problem with that.

So, who's really NOT on that page? I'll tell you who... People who are willing to lie, cheat and steal their way into public office because it's "their time".
That's a no-brainer, too, but in a different way.
So, have some respect for MY brain, and don't treat me like someone who would settle for sex over intellect, dignity and leadership. I'll take the intellect, dignity and leadership every time.
