(68,825 posts)If that happens...and 538 is usually accurate, even Bernie's delusions of victory should end. Only Michigan comes to mine...when you think of times 538 were not accurate.
Stuckinthebush
(10,847 posts)The delusion is strong in that one.

(68,825 posts)I really don't understand this sort of emotion for a politician...I have had some I liked and respected...very sad when Howard Dean lost but never this sort of groupie behavior. I really like President Obama...but certainly would have voted for and supported Hillary in 08.

(22,871 posts)rest of the primary and he'd still lose. There is no horse race,he's been mathematically eliminated.
B Calm
(28,762 posts)has to keep Hillary's feet in the fire or she will drift to the right.

(22,871 posts)Especially when he pivots to trying to win superdelegates even if he loses the popular vote and earned delegates. He's losing credibility by the day.
Stuckinthebush
(10,847 posts)His credibility is shot. He will be lucky to have a minor chairmanship in the Senate when this is all said and done.
In 2024 we will be saying, "do you remember that Sanders character? Wow. How nutso was that?"
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)by Bernie supporter Paul Krugman shows that he and other sophisticated supporters are worried Bernie is endangering his legacy and that his followers will drop away. Bernie's money raised dropped to half in April. People are worried about the GE.

SBS - WINNING! Just like Rafael Edward Cruz and Crazy Kasich. YAY!
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)He has to be himself. I suspect we're seeing the real Sanders in this intractable arrogance determined to set aside the decision of Democratic Party voters, but I'm glad I don't depend on him to define progressivism for me.

Hortensis
(58,785 posts)on Wednesday. We're all tired of an ungracious candidate who doesn't realize it's past time to concede, but that's really the problem of those worried that he is endangering his legacy and influence after the primary.
Maru Kitteh
(28,348 posts)flames out and ruins his inglorious career in the 11.9th hour it will serve him right for the nasty turn he allowed his saintly and "positive" campaign to take.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)turn out for progressive solutions to our problems. The GOP may revert to its old ways and rally behind Trump, and even the most hateful, irresponsible, ignorant right-wing vote counts just as much as any of ours.
I'm afraid, though, that Sanders could end up being a national joke to the right and embarrassment to the left if he keeps this up. Reputations are fragile, and electorates are fickle -- and especially irritable this year.
As for us and that last, it's running on too long, but we can take it. We'e Democrats, after all.
Maru Kitteh
(28,348 posts)have you ever seen how they blow skins off of tomatoes in mass quantity for processing?
Kinda like that.
I'm not worried. The DU and internet contingent of dearly devoted are loud but very small IRL. It's going to be fine. Whatever he does to himself will be done, by himself.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)him signals warning he's going too far. Contributions are dropping off. It's possible.
His extremist far-left followers obviously want him to go much farther, of course, -- to punch the bern up into the burn, but there are far fewer of them (thank all the gods at once).

As for my state (NJ), it'll definitely go to Hillary.

(30,254 posts)The polls indicate that she's only slightly ahead of Sanders and in IN Independents can vote.
Maru Kitteh
(28,348 posts)And then there's the fact that absent an absolute ROuTING, SBS will continue to be weakened further. A minor, or even relatively major win does nothing for him at all.
Tomorrow will be great.
Beacool
(30,254 posts)That's OK, though, she doesn't really need it.
