At about the 6:50 mark, you see media outlets now admit that there is no evidence of violence at the convention. A lot of posters on this site, and many in the DNC, lied about what happened.

(1,820 posts)She has opted not to run again and we in California have the opportunity to replace her. I am not sure what happened to her - she is pretty liberal. Maybe a cabinet post - who can say.

(70,464 posts)Okay. They were mad at something you should be angry about, if you care about democracy and transparency. Clinton would probably have won too, so doubly stupid given that. I'm happy that people no longer take that sitting down, and lots of people have lied about what Sanders supporters did. The people that should apologize are the people that acted in such an authoritarian way in Vegas, and the people that have lied about what happened there since. What a monumentally bad decision this whole thing was. To do that, get caught, then essentially lie and slime people in their own party in reaction. End result, what, two or three delegate difference?
Kelvin Mace
(17,469 posts)If Sanders has to apologize for his followers, will HRC apologize for the lies people told about non-existent violence in Nevada?

(15,265 posts)get the logic of doing this when she is already polling as she is against Trump. I guess they assume that it won't cost them. They'll force him from the race, people will be mad for a bit, then they'll vote for her. Okay, not the strategy I'd choose.

(7,537 posts)Consistently making bad decisions seems to be a theme with her.
but this is just kind of obvious. It's short sighted, it gets a small victory, but at a pretty big long term cost, and it certainly isn't going to make people trust Clinton more. The optics for the DNC in all of this is really bad. It shows a lot of arrogance that they do this so blatantly, then lie like they have, against their own party, when the country is already pissed.

(3,411 posts)I want my money back for the flowers. She's not the Senator I thought she was.
I watched the video of her smart assed blowing kisses and flipping the bird while saying "Fuck you" to the Democrats in the Nevada hall. That was not professional behavior. And then to lie about it afterward? After giving a sisboomrah speech about Clinton. That should have been saved for a rally.
She can't retire fast enough for me.

(1,788 posts)Yep, 50-100, mostly men screaming and being aggressive in their behavior, but it's B-Box's fault. It's her fault, she should have known better than to upset the men...because, again... Her feelings need to be dismissed...because.... See, there was no physical violence, so their was no need for her to be afraid...because....
kaleckim
(651 posts)you claim sexism, absurd. How utterly pathetic. There were no angry women? How do you not see your argument is freaking sexist? You then, comically, then argue that she (being a weak woman) can't handle a crowd of angry people (both genders) saying bad stuff about the undemocratic things the party did, or her antagonizing speech. I think women are just as capable as men of handling an angry crowd, even if you don't think so. Then, on the way out, she blows kisses, flips the bird, THEN goes on national television and blatantly lies about people in her own damn party. My god, keep your fake feminism, you harm the fight against actual sexism with your nonsense.
"See, there was no physical violence, so their was no need for her to be afraid...because"
Because there was no reason to be afraid, and she lied on national TV. She is not only a Clinton surrogate, so she necessarily has no problem with outright lying in public and has no shame, but her grandson is Clinton's nephew. All of you that lied SHOULD be ashamed of yourselves, but I sadly don't know if many of you can actually feel shame.
all american girl
(1,788 posts)screaming and acting aggressive towards them. Just because you are in the public eye does not mean having a bunch of out of control people coming after you is a walk in the park. I just wish that people would say that these people on the video had bad behavior and move on. They were horrible, and yes, anyone would feel maybe scared, and you have no right to tell anyone that they don't have that right...I don't care who you are.
kaleckim
(651 posts)the lying tried to paint them out of control, throwing chairs and doing property damage. All damn lies. The party was acting in a blatantly undemocratic way, were caught, the people were angry. What did Boxer do? She went on stage, antagonized the crowd, then when she got off she blew kisses, gave the finger and walked off. Over the next few days, she went on national TV and lied, straight up lied.
Funny though. Let's say you are in front of an oh so scary crowd and you were truly worried that they might harm you. Would you blow kisses at them and give them the finger? Give me a break with this BS.

(1,788 posts)These 50-100 people lost it. They were rude, and yes, a bit out of control. If you can't recognize jackwagons acting like jackwagons that's on you. If I saw Hillary people behaving in that matter towards Nina Turner, I'd call them out. But that's just me....I don't care how angry I am, she was allowed to speak and she should be heard. If you don't like what you hear (and mind you, they were out of line when she took the stage, because they had no problems with Nina Turner), then turn your back. Act like a grown up, and not a 3 year old throwing a temper tantrum in the Walmart parking lot.
And the blowing kisses...yeah, maybe I would. Why let the bullies win. Oh, that's right, if she was crying in the corner, then she was afraid...if she stood up for herself, then she could be afraid...yeah, that's sarcasm...and yeah, I had a dumb ass ex-boyfriend who tried to scare me, I told him to fuck off...but that doesn't mean I wasn't terrified of him, because I was. I stood up for myself, and then made sure he couldn't get to me...that was one guy...not 50-100 assholes.

(651 posts)I was at the Trump protest in Chicago, the people there were one thousand times more rowdy and confrontational, and I seem to remember Democrats cheering it on. I'm sure YOU weren't one of them, because that would have been them acting 3 year olds. Tisk tisk. Same with the Trump protest in Cali, which actually got violent. How about Code Pink and what they did against the Bush administration? Were they children too? I was at the protests against Scott Walker a few years ago, were all the protesters children? The protest in Seattle at the WTO? I support all of those protests. I take it that you are against those type of actions all together, or just when they are against people YOU support? How about the Democratic Convention in Chicago in 1968, were they all children, or was it a wee bit more complex than you seem able to appreciate? How about the Democrats that, in the last few days, yelled "shame" at the Republicans for their anti-LGBT legislation? Maybe they yelled "shame" in more gentlemanly ways? LOL! Were they being 3 year olds? What nonsense. The people in Vegas were pissed, and letting the party know how much they opposed the indefensible things it was doing (and they were caught on camera doing it as well). Good for them. Boxer egged people on onstage (she wanted to help her family member, HRC), when she got off (she wasn't scared, so stop your BS), and she lied about what happened in the national media. Go ahead, attach yourself to a narrative that has been proven to be a lie.
Oh, and on that, do you care to comment on the outright lies that the DNC and Clinton's rats did on TV, on this site, on the radio and in print about Sanders supporters in Vegas? Were you one of the people lying about what happened? Care to comment on those obvious, blatant, and coordinated lies?
Lizzie Poppet
(10,164 posts)She taunted and trolled Bernie supporters, got yelled at in response (and yes, some of the things yelled were nasty...I do not approve), then buggered off, spewing more nastiness back at the crowd. She was accompanied at all times by 6 or 8 security team members...armed security team members. If she actually was afraid for her safety, she's a hand-wringing idiot.
all american girl
(1,788 posts)I also think, just because you stand up for yourself doesn't mean you aren't afraid...Can I ask, if the same thing happen to Nina Turner, would you not be angry? I have a feeling you would be so mad...and I'd be right there with you.
Lizzie Poppet
(10,164 posts)But not even mildly miffed about the angry response in general. Boxer absolutely provoked it. If you make insulting statements like she made to people, they're going to yell similarly nasty things back at you. I'd have been doing exactly that, had I been there (although my piping little voice probably wouldn't carry). I'd have already been furious about all the shenanigans going on at that convention.
all american girl
(1,788 posts)like a jerk because someone hurt your feelings? Come on, can't we all be grown ups...you never answered how you would feel if this happened to Nina Turner.
Go look up Political...there were no shenanigans, just ill informed folks...caucuses are confusing and a hot mess...if you are new to this, I can see why you may not get it (not meaning you, you). Everyone should have done there homework and maybe this would have gone a bit smoother...there will always be high tensions, but there was way too much misinformation going on.
Lizzie Poppet
(10,164 posts)And actually, I did answer that question (not that you get to dictate what I choose to reply to...), by rather obvious inference.
I'll simply ignore your insufferably condescending second paragraph...and, for that matter, you. Bye, Felicia...reply if you like, but, well...see my .sig.

(1,788 posts)You are angry...and I get it, I just wish maybe you could see the other side...also, it's night time for me and I'm going to go to sleep. I'm sorry that you are angry. I just think what you see on the outside of a person, does not mean what the feel on the inside...and you don't get to tell them they are wrong...been there done that myself.
Lizzie Poppet
(10,164 posts)Oh, and your rather presumptuous amateur psychoanalysis just earned you a spot on my Ignore list.
kaleckim
(651 posts)was part of a team that did what happened in Vegas, went on stage and antagonized the crowd, then acted as she did when she left the stage? We can speculate on what she'd do in that situation, but Turner has too much class to act like such a fool, so we'd never know. For you to equate what she did to standing up to an abusive man is repulsive, on many levels.
