Rasmussen Mississippi Poll. 35 Romney, 27 Santorum, 27 Gingrich, 6 Paul

Rasmussen Reports’ first Republican primary survey in Mississippi shows former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney leading his closest competitors by eight points. A new statewide telephone survey of Likely GOP Primary Voters in the Magnolia State shows Romney with 35% of the vote, while former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich each draw support from 27%. Texas Congressman Ron Paul runs last with six percent (6%). One percent (1%) prefers some other candidate, and four percent (4%) are undecided.

Where is Santorum left if he loses MS and AL to Romney and Gingrich?

In a two way race Santorum would crush Romney in MS and AL, maybe even get over 50% which in AL would net him a huge number of delegates.

I would also know that I poll a ton better than Newt EVERYWHERE else in the country and yet am being pushed into losses by a delusional man with no chance.

you can bet that if Santorum loses MS and AL he's going to want Gingrich dead just like the majority of the country.

I checked out the latest national polls from Ras and Gallup and they actually both show Romney dropping slightly and Santorum and Gingrich gaining slightly.

O and guess what Gingrich is again vowing to stay in till Tampa.

and Romney might win?

Crazy as it sounds, I actually like Noot, compared to Sanitarium. I disagree with 99% but there is something
special about him -- guess I just appreciate intellect - however wrong and perverse.

I was under the impression that MS is a bit to the right of AL.

and Newt is again handing the nomination to Romney, as he has in Ohio, Michigan and Alaska.

how can the anti Romney forces be THIS BAD at picking a candidate to unite behind they would be winning right now had they done that just a month ago.

A shame...I'd really like to see a real showdown between the conservative agenda and the progressive one and see which prevails. The good news is this only delays the day of reckoning and, with a probably Romney loss, the purge of moderate Republicans will continue on into the 2016 race.

Or that some of Newt's supporters get a clue that he has no chance to win the nomination.

I really wish you didn't have to have a paid subscription to see the full poll. They apparently polled Romney Vs Santorum and I would like to see what they got there.

each one shows a different leader.

it seems that the Deep South is just hard to poll.

but yes I still don't see a Romney victory in MS as the most likely outcome.

or maybe as the other poll was a two day poll that had Santorum at 20 Santorum is rocketing.

who the hell knows.

I think Addelson said he was prepared to support Mitt...it would not surprise me in the least that Romney has a 'quid pro quo' going with Newt to stay in and defuse Santorum's opportunity. I'm betting Newt's got himself penciled in for whatever position he wants in a Romney administration.

BTW, Rasmussen, I would imagine, is doing all it can to bolster Mittens because it is a GOP firm and would want Mittens to be the nominee. I'll bet those numbers are a bit elevated.
