Mississippi And Alabama Republicans Think Obama Is A Muslim; Majority Doesn’t Believe In Evolution

Public Policy Polling has some unpretty numbers.

A stunning 52% of Mississippi respondents to a survey done ahead of Tuesday’s presidential primary have bought into the false notion that Obama worships Allah, Public Policy Polling reported Monday. Some 36% said they weren’t sure.

In Alabama, 45% responded in the affirmative when asked the same question and 41% said they weren’t sure, pollsters found.

<SNIP>

Sixty-six percent of Mississippians surveyed by PPP said they didn’t believe in evolution as did 60% of people in Alabama, the pollsters found.

I haven't met them, but I'm sure they're there. They just aren't represented by this poll.

I wish those people the best.

Love from an Arizona sympathizer.

"-Finally there's considerable skepticism about evolution among GOP voters in both Alabama and Mississippi. In Alabama only 26% of voters believe in it, while 60% do not. In Mississippi just 22% believe in it, while 66% do not. Romney wins the 'voters who believe in evolution' vote (33-27 over Gingrich in Alabama, 38-32 over Gingrich in Mississippi.) Santorum wins the 'voters who don't believe in evolution' vote (34-33 over Gingrich in both Alabama and Mississippi with Romney at 26%)"

calls when we kid ourselves that we have an "educated" populace. This is why money needs to be pumped into
education in this country. People are woefully ignorant of many, many facts and basic truths. It is not just confined to
knowing about Obama.

Have you ever seen the Jay Leno segment he does when he goes out to ask random people about things they really should know...simple things they should have learned in school, and average knowledge they should know about contemporary and/or political figures and simple knowledge they should have acquired along the way...it would be laughable if it weren't so sad. Every time he does this, it leaves you wondering how people can conduct themselves in every day life. People do not read any more, they watch American Idol & play computer games.

Conflated it with Game Change and laid this all squarely at Sarah Palin's feet for inciting (and giving approval) to this shit during the election.

I normally skip the rerun, but am going to catch it later tonight. His anger about this was off the rails. Wanted to know if Idiotville, MS was polled and ranted about the Dems in MS and AL legislatures not doing anything to counter the racism. It was classic Ed.

I know, I know, evolution has no actual direction ... but these folks do seem to be regressing towards a far more primitive human form.
