2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumOhio 2012 ..... election protection stuff
It came down to few simple things.
We were ready and itching for a fight.
We had the troops on the ground and eyes and ears on the polls.
Good people had been planning our actions for over 1.5 years.
We had ways to detect machine fraud on the precinct level
and we recorded everything if we needed to go to court.
We can make sure that most of the legit Provision ballots will be
counted if need be ....... something 200,000 haven't been counted
yet and >85% of them are for Obama (my guess) I have about
30 votes sitting right next to me right now ..... names and numbers
of provisional voters. Hell, I had a lawyer stop by where I was
working from out of state who had argued in front of the SCOTUS
making sure we doing the provisional thing right. We were not
f***ing artound.
The republicans had an application for smart phones so their people
could scan the voter lists on the wall and send it directly to the party's
voter suppression team ....... my guess "oh you haven't voted yet have
you? Well because the turn out was so big the polls will be open tomorrow
for you to vote" phone calls ..... Well at the place I was working the
presiding judge after being told that this lady was scanning and going to
transmit data told the woman to stop it and the second time she tried
she had to leave the poll.
Now I have no doubt that Sec. Husted and other dirty actions shaved
@ least 2 to 5 points off of Obama's margin but we showed the other
side that we will never lie down and let them steal it again and let me
tell you "they" tried to do just that but we would not let them.
BTW Epic fail for the tea baggers "true the vote" group in Columbus, OH
because they filled out their paperwork to be poll observers wrong and
this caused the BOE to look at their fillings closer and they found out that
the "True the Vote" had turned in forged signatures on the needed paper-
work so they were ruled out of the game.
We had each other's backs and the people I worked w/ had no quit in them
from 5:45 AM to 10:00 PM.

(20,616 posts)I have a strong feeling that Rove was waiting for something to kick in in Ohio, and was caught way off-guard when it didn't happen, hence his weird behavior on Fox last night.
Unlike 2004 though, when he pulled the lever nothing happened. Just my theory.

(20,616 posts)Maybe he was just freaked out because he let down his billionaires, but for someone who values his reputation like ol' Karl, it was an oddly embarrassing display in front of the entire country.
