Sore Loserman: Romney Lashes Out Over Debates, Media

Mitt Romney slammed the Republican primary debates, and the media, in the same call to donors in which he made his infamous "gifts" comments.

Romney's criticism of the debate process was obscured by his statements that President Obama beat him by giving "gifts" to key constituencies. But, as ABC News noted on Thursday, Romney said that the debates had hampered the GOP from the beginning of the campaign.

"We had 20 Republican debates, that was absolutely nuts," he said. "It opened us up to gaffes and to material that could be used against us in the general, and we were fighting these debates for a year, and the incumbent president just sat back and laughed."

Romney benefited from the primary debates more than, say, Rick Perry, but the forums became more well-known for elevating the Herman Cains of the party, as well as highlighting primary crowds that booed gay soldiers and applauded executions.

If this guy has to call and grovel to his donors post-loss to such an extent, just imagine what he would have done for them if had actually been elected.

2. Romney actually has a case here, but it's a case for his own cowardice

The Republican debates greatly damaged the Republican brand. They were a national joke. But they were so precisely because the whole crew was falling ass over tea-kettle (so to speak) to be the Most Right of the Right. Romney had to track so far right he looked over his left shoulder and saw Curtis LeMay. The problem, of course, is that the country is a center left country, especially in the states Romney needed to take back from Obama. So the debates and the primaries more generally made the whole Republican party look bananas to the average American voter, and Romney could never get the stink of that off of him.

3. Well, Mitt. Your party, your primary. Why don't you take some responsibility, a-hole?

Honestly, did any of those primary clowns have a clue about how they looked? What a disgraceful bunch!

And NOW Mitt's whining about how terrible it all was? Really?

Go away and never come back!

4. Who decided to have those debates?

I thought 20 was a ridiculous number as well, but probably for much different reasons than Romney did.

Mitt wanted to play the game and is now complaining about the rules because he lost. So much for personal responsibilty.

He really doesn't listen to what he says, does he?

6. The MEDIA??? The "liberally-biased media" which, the morning after the first debate,

overwhelmingly and enthusiastically came out and essentially told the populace to forget about Obama, Mitt hit a walk-off Grand Slam home run which The Babe would envy?

The same "liberally-biased media" which, in a much quieter, almost silent, voice pointed out that, yes, Mitt won on style and attack, but did so with A WHOLE SH*TLOAD OF LIES???

If it weren't for the "liberally-biased media", I would think that the Republicans were being laughed off the planet ...

WANTED 20+ primary debates. They thought it would suck all of the media oxygen over to them and make them look as awesome to the country as the Obama/Clinton debates/primaries made those 2 look. Obama/Clinton are the best and most brilliant politicians that the U.S. has ever produced whereas the GOP clown car was a freak show the likes of which will rarely be seen again. LOL.

The general public is seeing him for the ass clown that he is. I think halfway sane R's like Cristi and Jindal are secretly relieved too.

Mitt and his toady are being being such petulant, whiny little twits it is mortifying.

People who only nominally follow politics are seeing that we dodged a huge bullet.
