Andrea Mitchell just had to school Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz

Chaffetz just made the stupid statement that the President wants an unlimited budget by having no limit placed on the Debt Ceiling. Andrea appropriately schooled him that raising the debt ceiling was not incurring new spending but just raising the ceiling to recognize the level of spending that the Congress had already appropriated.

And these bozos try to call President Obama and Susan Rice dumb. This clown doesn't even know what the Debt Ceiling represents. What the White House wants them to do is, do away with this ridiculous tap dance number of having to officially raise the Debt limit. It is simply self make 'crisis'.

think the debt-ceiling is projected for future new spending, when it's really looking at what you already have decided the spending is and adjusting your credit-demands accordingly.

Republicans want to pretend that they aren't spending what they ARE spending and they do that by blaming the spending entirely on others and then denying that we need credit to cover it.

the TV he was sworn in?
Remember, there was a congressman who wanted to lower the debt ceiling?
Don't these Rs talk to one another. I mean Boehner passed all debt ceilings with Pres Bush and without having to pay for it.
It is no wonder the Rs are an embarassment.

of the party, which is pretty big, of course.

He is an arrogant POS like all the rest, but like Paul Ryan, but he perfectly understands what Mitchell explained.

He just is throwing out their prototype talking point, something simple and easy to regurgitate.

They forget the congress passed the legislation in the first place, why should they have to reapprove the spending.
The money is probably already spent and needs to be paid or hurt our credit rating further and cause higher interest rates.
