(13,071 posts)He earned nothing. The legacy of his father gave him his career. He is not a good reporter and an even worse host/commentator.
He is treated like the family pet by everyone on MSNBC. Given a pat on the head and a bone while they forgive and forget when he chews on shoes and pees on the floor.

I don't know if he is oblivious to the fact or just doesn't care that if it wasn't for his daddy, he'd be flipping burgers or stocking shelves at Walmart.

(594 posts)shut down the URL. His father is rolling in his grave.

(16,888 posts)....they will see that without fail, everytime they have him on either as a "reporter" or as a host, I switch from MSNBC immediately....in fact, I wouldnt be surprised if they were to take a look, there is a huge wave of people switching/off MSNBC....and the common link being - Luke Russert. I never could stand him.....no talent, smarmy, arrogant, - he's horrible and when he asked Nancy Pelosi the question about "age" in leadership of congress (before she shot his stupid ass down), that did it for me....I will never watch MSNBC (or anyone) so long he is on.
I am convinced that Tim Russert must have negotiated some kind of deal or mega-balloon payment that required them to hire his son.....because there is simply no explanation how this punk can have the visability and airtime he gets over veteran (and very good reporters and hosts) on MSNBC....no other explanation why he is able to even have a camera on him....ever....

(536 posts)No puedo pensar! His "Be Well" (take care) is so Frat-ish, it make-a me sicka to mi stomacha! I change the channel now every time. Ed Schultz is a horrible interviewer with no original thoughts and no research.

(6,486 posts)pretending he's impartial - but just listen to his arrogance, and analysis....along with getting the job via nepotism showing how he wasn't ready because he's also an ageist.

(51,389 posts)Create an account if you don't have one. After that you have two options. You can follow the twerp or just pay attention to what comes out of his mouth on tv. When you follow his account you can respond to his dipshit remarks or tweet to him your thoughts. If it is something he says on tv you can tweet a response to him.
The key is making sure that he is not the only one receiving your remarks. There are two ways that I know. One is to use a period in front of his account name. Such as .@TwitIdiot <- notice the period? That allows all of his followers to see what you tweeted to him. And your followers too. The other method is to use hash tags such as #LukeRussert. Hash tags allow anyone, repeat anyone, that has that hash tag as a one that they watch or does a search.
Now there are two ways to use twitter with someone like the twerp. Criticize him and showing how he is wrong. And educating him by putting the right ideas into his mind. Probably require help from the universe for him to recognize good ideas though. But enough of us do this it can work.
One statement that I use a lot is "Government is not the problem. Republicans are the problem!" Considering the state of government under Bush and this Republican House and Republicans in the Senate and how well Obama has corrected the course it should work well.

(51,389 posts)And it doesn't require watching him. Either follow him on Twitter so you can respond to his stupid remarks and make sure everyone knows he does and/or pay attention to what he does on tv and do the same.
Even if we don't get him off the boob tube maybe we can change his thought process although highly unlikely. But at least we put him under the magnifier and expose him so that more people know he cannot be a good source or be trusted.
It does require more of us to participate in this endeavor. And it shouldn't stop just at Lukie boy.
We need to challenge even some of our better reporters on what they have to say. Or try to guide them in the right direction. I did a mini campaign on why they were wrong about their thought process regarding the 47% not paying taxes. I tried educating them on the tax bracket effect on income and how the rich have much more income that is exempt from taxes.

(51,389 posts)And use DU to solicit others when an incident occurs. Or if you miss it real time but see something Gregory does here or elsewhere than push for it.
If you already have an account all you need to do next is follow him if you want to do that route.
