2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumC'mon, America, you're not Really Going to Elect Mitt "Empty Vessel" Romney, are ya?
I left the country after I saw a presidential election stolen 12 years ago, and renounced my citizenship when the thieves were reinstalled in 2004. But I still love the US, that'll never change. But the vapid, vacuous Romney would be the worst president in American history. and possibly the last: That's how dangerous I consider this intellectual void of a man, ready to be filled up by neocons, to be!

(797 posts)I'm also an ex-pat and its tough to watch America going through such upheaval.
I cant believe people are seriously considering voting for this weasel Romney,he will stab every wage earning American in the back and laugh about it with his fellow 1%ers at the country club. After coming from a huge forum that i recently discovered was basically a rightwing repository for hate for all things Obama there are many out there who are voting for Romney no matter what any one tries to tell them.
After having one too many leftwing posts/topics deleted at the other forum i got tired of being one of only a few leftwingers and being subjected to continual name calling and hate, most of those on the right have gone nuts, its as if they've all come down with a form of collective dementia i'm so glad i found this forum ,its like a breath of fresh air.

(706 posts)The idea that anyone who isn't a rich out of touch 1%er could like Romney is infuriating! How the fuck could some Americans be so stupid after 8 years of W? Apparently a lot of people in this country have forgotten that "those who don't remember the past are condemned to repeat it." Sometimes I question how at one point the USA could truly be hailed as the "greatest nation on earth.".

(10,419 posts)I'm sure you've seen this quote from Governor Etch-a-Sketch in another thread:
"I'm not familiar precisely with exactly what I said, but I stand by what I said, whatever it was."
-- Mitt Romney, at a press conference in Florida, defending previous statements he's made about President Obama and his relationship with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
Unbelievable.
