HooptieWagon
(17,064 posts)I never claimed a conspiracy. Merely pointed out that there's a likely connection between the Bernie smears and the Hillary campaign.
Summary of snopes: a foundation he started and funds supplies funds to black activist groups. The funds go towards many uses, including promoting hashtags on Twitter (it's in the snopes article).
It's no secret Soros is funding a Super PAC in support of Hillary, as he did for Obama.
Now, use some logic. Who benefits from driving a wedge between Sanders and minorities? Sanders? No, he has a 50 year track record of supporting the AA community, and wants their support. Does the AA community benefit? No, they lose the most progressive and longest time supporter. Any other candidate is a lesser one. Hillary? Bingo. Classic Clinton triangulation to drive a wedge between progressives and minorities. If she has the AA vote she can ignore the progressives. Now how hard is it to generate a "Sanders doesn't care about Blacks" meme on Twitter? Not very difficult, since it can be sourced from BLM, Soros's Super PAC, or the Clinton campaign itself. And what spreads a hashtag faster than humor, for example #Berniesoblack? The people spreading it don't know its origin, they think it's funny and retweet.
So again, it serves neither party well to drive a wedge between progressives and minority communities. They are natural allies. Those who are dividing them are serving their own interests, not those of either group.

MIXTURE
TRUE: A grantmaking network founded by George Soros provided funding to some groups that engaged in Ferguson-related protest activities.
FALSE: George Soros gave money to various groups for the express purpose of promoting Ferguson-related protests and riots.

AGAIN--SHAME. ON. YOU!!!!!!

You have outed yourself! Damn! Not even subtle!!!!!
HooptieWagon
(17,064 posts)I'm calling you out on your lies.
MADem
(135,425 posts)Where ever you THINK you got those little "rumors" you keep shopping, with your SNOPES "misquotes" and poor summaries, the discredited rumor you were "just sayin'" about came from the Moonie Times.
You didn't have to cite it--and if you were smart, you'd avoid doing so.
But that's where that fiction that Snopes was refuting was crafted. Moonie Times: Home Base.
And you tried to tell us it was true.
See how that works? Hmmmmm????
HooptieWagon
(17,064 posts)Like I said.
Snopes found true a Soros foundation funded AA activist groups. All your thrashing about can't change that, and it's there for everybody to read. And I never cited or linked to Moonie times...that's another fabrication of yours.

Guess where I got that link? FROM YOUR SNOPES LINK. And they say, at SNOPES, that the charge you are making--that Soros gave money to BLM for the purposes of disruption--ARE FALSE.
Anyone can click the link you provided, and find that link in the body of the comments. Like I said--your false claim originated at WASHINGTON TIMES.
So just STOP with this disruptive stuff. It's UGLY.
Mmmm, hmmm. SMH. You are not even subtle.

I didn't say a WORD--not one--about Sanders. Why are you even bringing him up and waving him in my face?
I think your characterization of black people as "Hillary pawns" is offensive and smacks of "fragility" and worse. Black people do have brains. They can get MAD about shit--like cops killing men, women and children. Hillary--or anyone else--doesn't have to "put them up to it" for people to make their grievances known.
You really should just delete this shit.
You're repeating a rightwing FALSE meme, here, that is sourced in the bowels of hell. YOU look THAT up--in what is apparently your paper of record, the Washington Times--where all those evil falsehoods originated.

Some people never played that childhood game, akin to "Yo mama so...." and they don't, apparently "get it." Instead, we're getting "sensitivity" and "hurt feeelings" and "But-but-but WHITE LIVES MATTER TOOOOO" foolishness in response to what should be an opportunity for hilarity.

(6,568 posts)In the late 80s/early 90s, I pretty much listened to New Jack Swing and G-Funk exclusively. Bell Biv Devoe, Tony! Toni! Tone!, Kid 'N Play, Digital Underground, Dr. Dre, Snoop, Warren G, 2Pac, et al. I got really into alt-rock and punk around the time I turned 14 or 15, but that was around the time No Limit was becoming big, and I really didn't like what they were doing with hip-hop.
These days, I'm still more of a rock guy, but I still get excited every time Jay-Z or Snoop drops a new album.

(6,568 posts)As a sax player, I loved the stuff I got to play. As a guitarist, I was yearning to be behind my favored instrument for that show (but the jazz band guitarist and I were equals (musically and skill-wise), but he was there the year prior to me, so he got the part. The following year (when I was the guitarist in the jazz band) we did some musical that I can't even remember anything about (aside from the fact it lacked a guitar part). For me, it was sit it out, or help out with percussion. I chose the former.

Oh, no it doesn't. Us old guys (white types) remember when JFK was going to sell the US out to the Pope. And Carter was an evangelical minister. And Obama, well, we all know about him...
What matters is the measure of the person, man or woman, something Jefferson, et al, knew full well when they put together that pesky Constitution (without Jesus' help, by the way, no matter what the Reaganites, etc., would say). And when are the pros going to start attaching "syndrome" to Reaganism. Its certainly a mental disease, IMHO.
And in closing, Jesus was a Jew. So, what's wrong with that?

(1,464 posts)There was a lot of Sanders' supporters attacking black twitter users and saying Sanders knew more about civil rights and had done more than they had in their entire lives, etc. There's a reason there isn't an O'MalleySoBlack hashtag as well. It's because O'Malley, his campaign and his supporters weren't defensive yesterday. They stopped, listened and engaged on the issue. Sanders' supporters did Sanders no favors yesterday. They were lashing out at the Arizona Dem Party for stating that Sanders cancelled his event with them post-protest. They lashed out at Goldie Taylor for not interviewing Sanders and then lashed out at her for stating that Sanders turned down the interview request.
Sanders desperately needs to do a Sanders Camp similar to the one that Obama did in 2007. It's to help supporters positively advocate for their candidate. Because they are just alienating people right now.
As if they were allies/supporters in the first place!

(32,886 posts)It reminds me of how Trump responds to people who tell him he has done something wrong.
There is something wrong with Trump to where he can't acknowledge being wrong about anything. Sanders supporters can't conceive of Bernie ever being wrong.

(3,580 posts)As you know I lean towards Hillary however she still needs to answer the tough questions. Right now I feel like people should be getting right after all of them and demand to know what they're going to do about institutional racism if they are lucky enough we vote for them. I want to know. And I want them to have the balls or ovaries to say with no reservation that black lives matter and what they would do about it.
To be honest, I'm not thrilled with any of the dems running. It might be just a natural let down after Obama. I think some of us myself included need to put some of our focus on the up and coming leaders and support them at the local level so the dem party can build a stronger bench for the future. I'm an old time dem so stick with the party but I see real problems if we don't recognize where we have to move towards. If dems cannot bring the righteous voices that are trying like hell into the fold then dems deserve to go the way of the GOP.
