Reason #1 to Vote Bernie: Sanders Does 'Better Than Clinton' Against GOP in Swing StatesAccording to a July 22, 2015 Quinippiac University Poll, Hillary Clinton's once overwhelming lead in public opinion has been cut substantially, and it's still a long way to the February 1, 2016 Iowa Caucus. In states that will decide the 2016 presidential election, Quinippiac reports that "Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, runs as well as, or better than Clinton against Rubio, Bush and Walker." According to its latest poll, Quinippiac explains how Clinton's lead has eroded in swing states, while Sanders's surge has spread from Iowa and New Hampshire to other key regions:
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is behind or on the wrong side of a too-close-to-call result in matchups with three leading Republican contenders, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker in Colorado, Iowa and Virginia, according to a Quinnipiac University Swing State Poll released today...
In several matchups in Iowa and Colorado, another Democratic contender, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, runs as well as, or better than Clinton against Rubio, Bush and Walker...

(17,997 posts)I believe it's a full 32% that haven't heard him or his message yet. When people learn about him, they support him.

(14,733 posts)I'm hoping the next round of polls sees him topping 25 or 30% more consistently. I'd like to see him over 35% consistently going into the debates.

(17,997 posts)It's so damn early. But the fact he's jumped in the polls so much, in such a short time, with very little money (comparatively,) and a MSM black out, is very encouraging!

Outlier completely out of touch with every other poll out there, including those that came out after this one
Demographic breakdown of voting sample is way off
All Democratic candidates lose to all Republican candidates in the poll (not just Clinton).
And on, and on, and on...

(5,644 posts)"The issues presented at Netroots by Black Lives Matter must be addressed by the next Democratic nominee, and I firmly believe Bernie Sanders will rise to the occasion. In addition to winning swing states, the next Democratic nominee will have to win the trust of African-American voters. This will be crucial, especially when the Sandra Bland tragedy has brought racism to the forefront of American politics in 2015."
It's in the article as I've said and I sleep well most nights.

(22,271 posts)that HE CAN WIN RED STATES! Unlike the "experts" at the DNC, Bernie WILL go to all 50 states. He'll bring a new message to those who have traditionally voted against their own interests. He directly addresses needs and concerns of PoC, the poor, the shrinking middle class, and all of those who have been so adversely affected by our bought-and-paid-for Congress.
He doesn't have the negatives that Hillary has. People in the red states are already pre-disposed to dislike Hillary. Not so with Sanders. Sanders doesn't start out with that deficit. And those negative numbers, btw, continue to rise for Hillary. It's not what the polls say today, it's the trajectory. By some calculation and if the current trend continues, Bernie should catch up with Hillary along about October.

(22,271 posts)that the Hillary camp has thrown at him and he's still gaining ground. With a 50-year history of Civil Rights and Social Activism, all he has to do is stand on his record and let the grassroots do the rest.

(62,325 posts)Wait 'til people everywhere know him. He talks about the issues that people CARE about according to every poll on ISSUES supported by the American people. So it's no surprise he will beat every Republican in this race. They are AGAINST every issue the people care about.
