(3,649 posts)I just like Bernie a lot. I've been waiting a long time for a candidate with his positions to run for office. O'Malley is a solid Plan B though.

1. Ended death penalty in Maryland
2. Prevented fracking in Maryland and put regulations in the way to prevent next GOP Gov Hogan fom easily allowing fracking.
3. Provided health insurance for 380,000
4. Reduced infant mortality to an all time low.
5. Provided meals to thousands of hungry children and moved toward a goal for eradicating childhood hunger.
6. Enacted a $10.10 living wage and a $11. minimum wage for State workers.
7. Supporter the Dream Act
8. Cut income taxes for 86% of Marylanders (raised taxes on the rich).
9. Reformed Marylands tax code to make it more progressive.
10. Enacted some of the nations most comprehensive reforms to protect homeowners from foreclosure.
Mother Jones magazine called him the best candidate on environmental issues.

(135,425 posts)If you are in SJ and environs, there is water rationing--every three days they turn on the water for a few hours. If you don't have a tank on the roof you are screwed and have to fill up buckets and garbage containers. If you are near a pool you can go swimming every day.
If you live in the country, like out Ponce way, you are in better shape. They have not started rationing there yet.
If he brings rain, he'll be beloved--not that PR votes count for anything. He's going for PR delegates, I guess...? They can help pick the nominee, but they have no voice after that process.

Aside from the votes, these are issues and concerns which the former governor has taken a personal interest in highlighting and advocating. It tracks his record in my state of Md. of attention and action on issues related the Latino community here.
