2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIf BLM is targeting Sanders, they have crossed the bridge to mega-radical land.
Sanders could be their natural ally. If they are willing to alienate Sanders, this is CRAZY thinking and would not be approved by MLK. They are cutting their own throat. I hear their frustration. But you don't win hearts and minds with this kind of mega-radical thinking and action. They are caricaturing themselves and will self-implode. They are not going to be taken seriously. Someone in BLM leadership better start RE-thinking the tactics and damn quick.

(10,893 posts)as perhaps the most LW candidate (and as someone who talks about "revolutions" to show more respect for the protesters and take the time to acknowledge their grievances, and present a plan of action. They weren't undercover right wingnuts or Hillary supporters disrupting for the Hell of it; they were people who want their voices heard within their own party. That's why we haven't seen them show up at GOP events yet, because it's well-known in the Black community that most of the GOP doesn't care at all about our lives. It is offensive and wrong of both BS and most of his supporters to be dismissive of the BLM movement (considering the fact that it is a regular occurrence now for unarmed Blacks to be shot by police), and it won't win him any votes within the primaries if his camp continues to act thin-skinned and not listen and reach out harder to the party's most loyal constituency. It's actually an interesting thing to see after all of the times that President Obama got heckled, and certain DUers and posters on DKos, Crooks and Liars, etc. talked about the need to "hold his feet to the fire", but some of them become livid when it happens to BS. Heckling is part of the campaign experience and being a politician.

(24,853 posts)Their own press release says they were there to "hold Bernie Sanders accountable". He gave them what they wanted, which was face time.
Comrade Grumpy
(13,184 posts)...is a bit of a puzzle.
And why they should have any influence whatever in the Democratic primary is even more of one.
Hey, what about ANSWER's demands?
Where does Bernie stand on the Revolutionary Communist Party platform?
Is he satisfying the New Black Panthers?
They're all about as relevant.

(17,064 posts)Black radicals are driving a wedge between AAs and progressives, so their activism can continue (seeking fame, power, and $). If progressives address racial inequality, let alone do anything about it, then the radical activists become irrelevant.
IOW, Generals promote endless war, because if there was peace we wouldn't need Generals. In a sense, the radical activists want a race war in order to be relevant.

(1,169 posts)DU does the exact same thing. How is anyone here going to question why BLM doesn't direct their energy to protesting Republicans when posters here spend every day protesting and burning bridges with "natural allies". Look at this message board, all it is is division and bridge burning. I don't understand why any Hillary supporter in their right mind would vote for Bernie in the GE after the absolute horrific treatment she and her supporters get from Bernie supporters.
