Related: About this forumI've decided to cut my donations to the DNC to 6... cents
Kidding, I will never contribute another penny to them as long as I live.

(94,926 posts)to date, I think we're at $30K for the DNC, it's Committees nd individual candidates. Becuse winning is essential.

(5,208 posts)Wrote in that I wouldn't be contributing because I had already given to Bernie.

Or maybe you were thinking of Sherrod Brown? Russ Feingold? I have a simple set of principles. 1) a Democrat is better than a Republican. 2) show me you can win.

(15,558 posts)We've fallen behind other democracies in too many categories to list. U.S. wealth disparity and inequality has reached an obscene all time high, and has increased apace under both republican and democratic administrations. Corporate dems playing tug-o-war with republicans for the White House isn't getting the nation's issues resolved. Just winning is no longer enough to continue staying locked in this game.

(94,926 posts)Show me the path for a progressive to win (see: Warren, Feingold, Brown), and I'll support them.

(30,481 posts)People whose political action never goes further than a keyboard have no clue that the ACA took decades to brew, the organization needed to generate change, and how the republicans would rule over the U.S. If the DNC weren't as competent as it is. Yes, I have issues with them. But we are talking an organization that support goes from the reddest state to the bluest state, and from politicians like Chafee to Sanders. It's extremely obvious who has been out in the field and who has carpal tunnel syndrome.

(55 posts)DNC will not be the same after Bernie's victory. DWS will be back to being an absolutely worthless representative from Florida, or kicked out via a primary.

So why are they even asking us for money when clearly they will be well financed by their wealthy donors?
I will join all the others whose donations shouldn't be missed anyhow, by making sure that what I can afford goes to the candidate I want to see win.
Because we agree, it is ALL about winning.
Sanders now has hundreds of thousands of donors, heading into the millions so each small donation multiplied by millions is the PEOPLE'S money talking this time.

(8,636 posts)If Hillary wins the nomination, I will donate to the DNC. I don't want a repuke in the White House; I'm not certain the country would survive another GOP administration.

(12,799 posts)You will be happy to know that about $10K actually made it's way to political campaigns. As charities go, the DNC doesn't meet the smell test.
