It's 6:30 and speakers begin at 7:00.
[IMG][/IMG]
7:04 it begins
Press Secretary: Simone Sanders
[IMG][/IMG]
The crowd really responded to Simone.
Pres. Of SC AFLCIO Erin McKee
[IMG][/IMG]
It was nice to see a major union show support for Bernie.
Student from College of Charleston - Tristan Fletcher
[IMG][/IMG]
He hit the bit issues of student loan debt and unaffordable tuition.
And Bernie comes on at 7:19
[IMG][/IMG]
His voice is hoarse, but he is delivering a firey message about helping all Americans.
Big cheers for black lives matters, paying women the same as men, and protecting reproductive rights of women.
More big cheers for restoring voting rights act and fighting voter suppression.
And lots of cheers for fighting big money interests and income inequality and investing in infrastructure for all
Liked this:
"These people denying people the right to vote are political cowards and they need to get a new job"
"We are going to end institutional racism and radically transform the criminal justice system"
He's calling out racist hate groups and the racism that killed Walter Scott, Sandra Bland, Eric Garner and several others. "Dying by the hands of police must change"
"Police officers who break the law must be prosecuted and held accountable"
"Don't think small. Think big."
"Equality for all"
[IMG][/IMG]
And it was all over by 8:20 pm.
Time to get my arse back to Georgia.
Edited to add:

(12,977 posts)It's a handy little add-on. Lets you zoom in to catch details, zoom out to keep oversized images from messing up the page layout, and rotate as needed.

(486 posts)Somebody in the sidebar live chat on Bernie2016tv estimates 7k.
If that's accurate the total turnout in this SC swing should be around 15k.
Smaller venues and smaller crowds than in the more progressive areas he's been to, but very good enthusiasm at all these SC mtgs.

(34,186 posts)I hadn't attended a presidential candidate's rally since I left the Boston-NH area over ten years ago. It was easy back then.
It was a 2 hour drive, but worth it.
South Carolina has become an important early primary state and hope to attend more Bernie rallies, but also HRC and OM rallies if they come back to Charleston or southern SC.

(13,877 posts)backfiring as people then flock to hear him speak. What's his name, again? Better go check it out.

(34,186 posts)Go see Bernie! Or at least watch the video. Don't let others define him for you.
In fairness, the same could be said of out other candidates for nominee.
