Hello, so just let me introduce myself

I am a former republican voter, and I never was really hardcore politically, but I used to defend some of their positions, not really the social positions, more like the fiscal positions.

I barely make ends meet, but I used to defend the rich, but not anymore, let them defend themselves, why should I be getting all bent out of shape because their taxes will go up. I say raise their tax rates until they squeal.

Do you know I bought in to all the talking points about how raising taxes, and regulations like Obamacare are going to force the small businesses and corporations to pass on costs to consumers, layoff their workers, reduce worker hours, pass costs on to consumers etc. and then I thought look at the economy those businesses aren't hiring now they aren't expanding and their taxes are low, Obamacare is not even implemented fully so really how did those things impact business? I know that is like real logical, but I failed to see it like that because of all the media noise, yes I did listen to talk radio on my to/from work and yes I only watched fox news but one thing I did do was I intently listened everytime the President spoke.

Slowly the veil was lifted, this was a nice family man that wants the best for all of us together. He is not from some rich country club upbringing, he doesn't need to be fake because he is naturally real.

Well anyway I am glad that I eventually woke up and I am sure there are probably some here that have followed my path. So hello everyone and happy holidays.

This will help you get a feel for general outlook on posting here. Beyond that, we employ a jury system of moderation that enforces the Community Standards of DU on a post by post basis through member alerts. There are no moderators, only hosts on the forums and groups. These hosts ensure that the posts meet the Statement Of Purpose for the given group or forum and while they can lock a thread that falls outside of the SOP, they can not ban a member. The Malicious Intruder Removal Team is responsible for review of jury hidden posts and where the member has less than 100 posts, MIRT can revoke that members posting privileges if consensus is reached that the poster is engaging in disruptive posting or violating the TOS. Any other banning is done at the discretion of the Administrators of the site.

Hope that helps, and I look forward to seeing what you have to say and contribute here.

It's an easy sell when people really start paying attention to what people DO.. as opposed to what some people SAY they do. We're glad to have you here.
