Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumI about had it with this place - on JR's site, are you able to post & discuss like
we do here?
I responded out there to a thread about Hillary's mistakes in Honduras & a Hillaryite responded with a comment about Bernie supporters calling Delores Huerta a liar. FFS - you cannot even have an intelligent conversation around here anymore.
You can't even post that Bernie picked up endorsements from black activists for his work in Flint MI without be told that it doesn't matter, black people won't vote for Bernie.
You can't even question a public figure without being excused of throwing them under the bus.
I am sick of being called a sexist, racist, xenophobe among other things. Oh and my favorite one is being told that I am not a Democrat. I'm 60. Never once was a Goldwater girl or anything even close.
This place has become UNDemocraticUnderground.com. I sign on to read what's new & then I find my self sucked into arguing with her supporters. What a waste of time! Trying very hard not to respond.
But at the same time, I enjoy all of you & sharing Bernie news, comparing Bernie vs Hillary on issues ..... I learn so much from all of you.
So tell me more about JPR It just might be time to make a move.

(2,379 posts)Start putting individual users on TOTAL IGNORE and you won't ever even see any of their posts. Trash the Hillary Group and you'll never see any of those threads except on the main home page.
So don't read and ignore them ... use the ignore button and never see them.
It's done wonders for my blood pressure.

(10,345 posts)Also, JPR is a community made by Bernie Supporters for Bernie Supporters. We don't use it as a hive of hatred towards others. It is a site of productive conversation and thought.
For the short term, the sites purpose is to help Bernie win. Should he win or lose though, the site will be there to forever push forth the Political Revolution that Bernie started.

(10,345 posts)I still poke around here because this race involves both sides and I want to know what they're up to.
After this race though, I'm probably going to migrate fully to JPR.

(8,352 posts)We are a progressive site. Anyone from the left of the political spectrum whether they are a registered Democrat, Green, socialist, or independent will feel welcome there.
We have one simple rule. No trash talk. Don't come to JPR and kvetch about DI, DU, DKos, etc.
Other than that, we are very laid back and invite spirited discussions and debates. I know it may come as a shock but not all Sanders supporters agree on all things.
I spent Super Tuesday night there as I just couldn't take the horse shit here.
Come join us. You will be very welcomed there.

(9,711 posts)Couldn't find it (that had to be a first...LOL). I just wanted to say hi to old friends. Can you help?
TM99
(8,352 posts)you need to go to Forums. On that page, the third section down is JackPineRadical Rooms. The Bar & Grill is the first sub-forum in that section.
If you need anything else, PM me here or there. I use the exact same username name.

(36,281 posts)Folks at JPR are more like-minded than they are here, obviously. I mainly lurk over there-- I'm sure my post count is still in single digits.
I like just reading what people post, it's calm and relaxing...

(8,352 posts)We are named after a long-time DU and Sanders supporter who died very recently.
As I said above, we are a progressive site open to all leftist and right now very focused on getting Sanders elected.

(7,475 posts)Stick around, this too will pass. It is awful at times and hard to keep from commenting. Better be here and quiet than to go elsewhere. Every poster has value. Some good, others not good. Read, grit your teeth and move on to the next post.
Take a break and post on one of the non-political groups for a while. They are dying right now.
BTW, I am in sympathy with you and miss so many who have given up and gone elsewhere.
Feelin' the Bern!

(8,352 posts)would you mind sending me more information either here or there about your issue?
We are trying to still iron out some kinks and we want to make sure all devices are able to use the site. Detailed information will help us with that.
I had a problem initially because my preferred browser is a Russian one and an automated security script had a hissy fit! A simple tweak, and all is well.
Thanks.

(11,012 posts)be resolved. But one un-resolvable issue is that the school district where I work has decided that it is a "chat room" and has blocked it. I read DU and did read JP during down times at school.
I'll try logging in to JP this evening and see if I can post on it...

(8,352 posts)I don't know if we can correct the issue with the school district but let's see what is happening.

(50,130 posts)...that if all of us who are great advocates for truth and justice leave here during the campaign, newbies will only find the flotsam left. It will be called democraticunderground, but it will be the playground of disinformation.
That's why I'm still here.

(1,786 posts)Into a back and forth that is not civil or constructive. I know it can be hard to not get into one of those but at the end of the day it is you choosing to reply.
As long as the back and forth is civil cool but once it turns personal that is it. I've had the same problem in the "RKBA" group. Trying to have an adult conversation about common sense gun control is virtually impossible in that group.
