Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumOh, my.
I have just been banned from the Bernie Sanders group for making statements critical of Hillary.
Dare I point out that the person who banned me is a moderator for BOTH the Obama and the Hillary groups?

(23,156 posts)the 15th person banned there. I consider that a badge of honor.
But my banning from the Obama group is complete and utter bullshit. Especially since I was commenting about Hillary. Not Obama. Apparently someone has a bit of trouble understanding that they are actually two different people. Unfortunately, the person who banned me is a host to both groups. I guess there's no limits on who can host what groups.

(23,156 posts)While I have no problem with someone disagreeing with my statements, they were about Hillary, in the Bernie group and should not have earned me a banning from the group. And and alert on my message would probably not have earned a hide. So instead I was banned by one of the overly sensitive hosts of that group, who is also in the Hillary group and bans anyone who isn't falling down in total awe of Hillary.
Wow. That's all I can say is wow.
And to lend some perspective: I'm totally opposed to guns. I frequently and cheerfully say I'm in favor of confiscation. And I'll state this in the gun groups. Those truly wonderful people have never banned me, and I've rarely even had a hide. We go back and forth. Of course I'll never convince them, just as nothing they say will change my position. But I'm in genuine awe of their tolerance and have started at least one thread thanking them for their tolerance. Fabulous people, no matter how much we disagree.
But a post critical of Hillary in the Obama group gets me banned? Really?

(9,933 posts)I was banned from the Obama group for saying it was a protected group where you cannot say anything bad about Obama. Apparently perceived as sarcasm and banned. Banning is the equivalent of having a judgmental neighbor yell "get off my lawn!"

(12,629 posts)I voted for Obama in 2008, and was disappointed. I voted for him again in 2012, to prevent McCain and his screeching banshee of a running mate from holding office.
Hillary said the magic words indicating that she would carry on with Obama's "progress". Not good enough. I'm growing old, and I would like to see some real positive change before I make my grand exit. Change that I have been working toward for almost 50 years.
Not sure what I will do this time around...it matters little anyway.

SheilaT
(23,156 posts)is that I've just been notified that my post on the Obama group has been hidden, meaning I can't post there for a bit. And to think, I've already been banned.
