Activity report.

I like activity reports. They help me stay accountable for goals.

At work, I instituted an activity report from every Board Member at the beginning of our board meetings. It lets people talk about the great things they've done since the last meeting to support the organization, it gives other people ideas, and when it's your turn to talk you definitely want to have something to say. It's very motivating and has increased effective advocacy among board members.

So our big goal is to secure the nomination for Bernie Sanders and advance him to office.

Here is my little activity report of what I have done this week toward that goal.

1. I ordered my yard sign, shirts, and buttons
2. I made another modest financial contribution to the campaign
3. I spoke to house guests about the registration deadline for New York's closed primary and pitched them on supporting Sanders
4. I submitted a letter to the editor of our local paper contrasting Sanders and Clinton
5. I submitted an article to a national publication contrasting Sanders and Clinton
6. I made a connection who can help me plan the benefit concert I want to organize

I think that's it it may seem like a lot or it may seem like not much or somewhere in between. Maybe next week I won't be able to do anything.

But monumental tasks are accomplished by people doing whatever they can.

I'm grateful for this forum where I can check in on what I'm able to do.

Please share anything that you've done this week or this month, if you want to. I think it would be wonderful to see how it all adds up

Hmmm...I've done much less.

I have placed two orders for Bernie stuff...one from his store and one from CafePress.com...I'll place another order from his store this week.

I have his sticker on my car.

I've been (cautiously bringing him up at work...politics and religion can bring on huge fights) asking if people know of him and ask them to check him out...I've also approached my mailman.

I got all excited for a meeting in my area on September 3rd...but it filled up in a heartbeat AND I am working that day anyway.

Bits and pieces for me...I do need to write some Letters to the Editor.

Oops...forgot, I had already signed on for a monthly donation...and have given during the Money Bombs...next one is September 8th on Bernie's birthday!

1. Created several pieces of online imagery to get his message out. Find them ALL using this page: http://www.democraticunderground.com/128037843

2. Placed the Bernie bumper sticker on one of my cars.

3. Talked to family and coworkers about Bernie.

4. Joined Bernie's Super PACK and now contribute $10 a month to the campaign.

WIP:

1. I'm creating a "HONK! If you feel the BERN!" Yard sign with board and paint to touch with the community.

2. I'm going to buy more Bernie swag from the official Bernie store, as well as some unofficial stuff elsewhere.

I love a baseball cap and a trucker cap that I got from CafePress...I want more of them as I do wear them everyday.

You're doing great with your graphics.

This month:

Placed second order to the store. Another shirt some stickers and buttons.

Scheduled events for every Sunday for the rest of the month. Meet-up and gather at a coffee shop. Last week no body showed with 1 rsvp. Have 9 rsvp for tomorrow, and 4 rsvp for the 30th.

Printed a few fliers (50) to pass around/carry.

Created FB group to support the local meet-ups.

Made connection to people organizing 2 of the 3 neighboring counties.

Tried to spread the word about the meet-ups.

I still need to create an agenda for the meetings.

There's another activity that I'm not ready to talk about yet

Great motivational idea! Thanks for posting.

I need some flyers in my car and a few for work. What I really want are some business cards for him...easy to have and discreet to pass at work.

1. Would you mind sharing the letter you wrote your local paper comparing Hillary and Bernie? Some may be able to use it as a model to contact their local papers. You are such a good writer. No sense re-inventing the wheel.

2. Let us know if that publication accepts your article.

Okay;

I signed up to make recurring donations. (I will participate in the September 8 birthday money bomb, too, though! Hey, it's a birthday present.)

I ordered campaign buttons for the family.

I ordered my second Bernie tote--alas, from word press, as Bernie's store has no totes. It says, "Listen to Bernie Sanders."

I attended an event today at Boston City Hall Plaza. (Remember folks: Sanders Saturdays from now until the primary.)

I lovingly strongarmed my Republican relative--my ONLY Republican relative--and his wife, who were in Boston to see the Constitution and Fenway Park. His son will still be too young to vote in 2016, but, in his parents' presence, I planted the seed that he should not let his father turn him into a Republican.

I was just in Boston for work and I had such a great time.

The letter to the editor and article were both just a modified more polished version of my recent post about September 11. Describing it as a comparison of Clinton and Sanders is a simplification. Still their conduct after September 11 says so much about the difference between them.

I'll definitely let everyone know if they actually print it

I want to write a letter to the editor that is more dry and submitted to local papers where way more likely to be published and read.

I want a Bernie tote. I know you want the campaign to get the money, but it does increase visibility.

I want one that says ask me about Bernie Sanders.

I hope you're not disappointed that my letter was just my post from yesterday.

11. My turn...

1. I bought signs, a couple of shirts, buttons and stickers, and have shared with like-minded people. Bumper sticker is in the car back window, sign is in one of the front windows of my house, buttons are on my work tote bag (can't wear political buttons on our clothes, but the code doesn't refer to anything else).
2. I printed several copies of Playinghardballs' flyer regarding the time frame for voting in the primary in New York (flyer here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/106821278) and have been putting them up where I can.
3. I got a couple of my siblings (who are NOP - no official party) to agree to re-register as Democrats so they can vote in the primary.
4. I put Bernie stickers on the light poles near my workplace (lots of pedestrians).
5. I'm donating monthly to the campaign (and my SO kicks in additional on the money bombs).
6. My SO and I are both working an info table next Sunday at a local art festival.

I think that's it. Thanks to everyone!
