(227 posts)I would post an OP but I don't like bullies.
But, did anyone else notice that Bernie didn't use the recent school shooting for political purposes but Hillary did?
Heck, even Martin O'Malley did.
I don't think it has anything to do with Bernie's record, I think it's his style to look at the big picture and his degree of classiness and decorum that prevents him from speaking to the tragedy in any way that might seem exploitative.
Fucking Clinton didn't skip a beat, though.
I hate this shitty type of politics, and it seems to get worse every day.
Go Bernie!

(12,769 posts)Bernie doesn't get sucked into that, much to his credit. In fact, that is what got us in to the Iraq war.

(45,251 posts)The week of wall to wall TV coverage, the govt. was already saying Saddam was connected to 911. They built a bs case for a connection that ever Arab over 7 years of age knew was a lie because Saddam and Osama hated each other. There was no heat of the moment.

(45,251 posts)home of pragmatic liberals. At least, that's what the home page of PPI's website used to say before the sensible woodchuck cartoons became so popular. Now, there is only a hint of that left on the About page: "Today, PPIs unique mix of political realism and policy innovation continues to make it a leading source of pragmatic and creative ideas."
See? Anyone to the left of PNAC is just not realistic or pragmatic.

(6,002 posts)aspirations instead of what they truly are, that hypocrisy, along with this election/political system, which in reality is more like the one party system I hear Chris Hedges describe so eloquently, becomes more and more apparent. How easily some liberals buy this packaged pretense is astounding...the rest of us are to march in lockstep or be damned along the way for having the "audacity of hope" and the ability to see through this farce.
I fear if we do not "give 'em hell" soon, we are damned to learn a collective, hellish lesson of our own, wrapped in a flag & carrying a cross, one by one, we shall spread democracy as we lose it "progressively".
We are finally getting transparency, merrily, without any measures taken by gov't, the pretense is astounding, seems they may now be spiking the water supply with Kool-Aid.
