(34,613 posts)35. It was eerie, even in Lansing. I forgot to get glasses so I just watched the NASA feed but it
was so dim at the peak that it felt like I was wearing sunglasses inside even though the sun was shining. I noticed a lot of my neighbors were out watching it which was cool. No wonder ancient people got spooked and thought the world was ending. These days, there's no excuse for it. Steve Bannon and his bogus prayer BS.

My brother was in Carbondale IL and saw a bright star and a satellite when it went total.
