22. Congrats!! My parents were union (northern state) -

they were high school graduates who were able to have decent jobs with benefits (and piece work - remember that? My dad loved the reward of being able to make more if you put in the effort). All 3 of us kids were able to graduate from in-state colleges on the shoulders of their work.

My dad always said that the unions weren't perfect (some of them were pretty strong in the mid 1900s and could be violent as well), but without them they didn't have anything. With a union you were able to approach management as a group with demands - without that you'd just be individually fired if you said anything at all that they didn't like. I'm so glad to hear unions are on the rise again.
