I think the President has struck exactly the right tone

It's been interesting to watch the rollout of the Biden campaign's approach to dealing with trump. Joe doesn't ignore him; he call out his cruelty and stupidity. He calls out his age, which is not that much less than Joe's himself. He calls out his mental and emotional state. This is all fine. Trump deserves a bit of his own medicine.

The difference is HOW Joe is doing it. With a wry smile. With a jab at himself before an even bigger one at tsf. He is the master of control when opposed to a person with almost no self control. It seems that Joe and his team have decided to treat tsf like no real threat to the election; as though he is inconsequential. A nowhere man. A bratty toddler who doesn't even merit the attention and energy of decent, hardworking folk. I really like the Biden team strategy in dealing with trump.

In another person's hands this could appear smug or snide but not Joe's. Always self-deprecating and polite, his ripostes are pinpoint accurate whereas trump are confused and garbled. And I think it's only going to get worse for trump.

I know the pundits are calling a brokered Repub convention unlikely to happen; I doubt that trump will get that far and they will ditch him before the convention.

Either way, whether trump is the candidate or not, it looks like Joe's got this.
