I was a 4 year old when my Dad walked with me on his shoulders (perched between his shoulders and his worn CANG rucksack filled with class materials and coloring books and snacks for me) during Civil Rights protests at UC Berkeley going to class because Mom was at work. They took me to class when they couldn't find a neighbor willing to trade babysitting time.

There's a difference between protests and political agitation. Black Bloc tactics are never helpful when your protest theme is supposed to be supporting peace and human rights.

And cops coming in like commandos storming Normandy certainly never helped any cause. Universities and organizations that have been targets of protests know this from long history.
