(22,755 posts)65. My mail carrier, whose last day on my route is tomorrow after over 6 years when he moves to another route
and retires in another year after 30 years with the USPS does not think much of DeJoy and believes he is out to hurt the Post Office, doing what he can to put it out of business.
Mike is a Democrat and he spends maybe 15 minutes each day he works at the mailboxes in front of my house, taking his afternoon breaks there, and a lot of what we talk about is politics since we are so much in agreement about it.
I must admit that I've looked forward to visiting with Mike these past 6 years and even though I've never seen him anywhere else we have become friends and I will miss him. It may seem silly, but it will be a hard goodbye (although he did take me email address from me today and put it in his wallet).

Surely there must be a cost-benefit analysis to make such a business decision. Let's see it.

Biden has appointed Democrats to the Board. They haven't done a thing about DeJoy.

They don't need all the flat-sorters they have and they are consolidating facilities.

Existence of the postal svc is in the Constitution. It must remain federally managed & cannot be privatized.

Destruction and profit; profit and destruction. Never a thought for public service.

Yes, but knowing Biden he probably has done little to try and influence those Board of Governors.

Because Democrats have been urging Pres Biden since 2021 to remove him and he hasn't.

He does not want to improve the Postal Service, he wants to break it. The GOP wants to privatize it.
