14. The Kent State student murders happened on my 18th birthday.

Our relatively small group of anti-war students were used to hearing derogatory shit here in Orlando. Killing unarmed protesters on a campus made things very real very quickly. And the result was serious resolve. We went all in. It was no longer a cause. It became a lifestyle. You don't get more serious violence than murder.
