A Message of Hope

Through out history humans have experienced troubled times more often than not fueled by religious zealots determined to undermine the rights and freedoms of others in the cause of a particular faith. Europe went through this during the dark ages. But what evolved from the dark ages was a Renaissance, a spiritual and intellectual awakening that furthered the ideals of humanism. I believe the United State is going down a dark path and there are dark times ahead of us. I believe though, I hope that I am wrong within the next 4 years, there will be another terrorist attack, I suspect we will be invading Iran and a draft will be instituted, and we are in for some very difficult economic times.

But I know from darkness comes light and I believe America will have its own awakening. A Renaissance were profound individualistic and humanistic ideas will vastly outshine the mediocrity that is so prevalent in the masses of American society. We will see a resurgence of art, music, literature and great advances in technology and science. Organized Religion, will give way to individualistic spiritualism, were individuals discover their own spiritual path through introspection, scripture and self reflection. The religious fundamentalist and their quasi-political religious leaders will be a foot note in history, and nothing more than a bad dream.

It's worth remembering that every oppressive, self-aggrandizing, power-crazed regime has contained the seeds of its own destruction.

Let's hope that the Fourth Reich self-destructs quickly.
