What if Democrats owned the voting machine companies?
Would the GOP still feel the same way they do now. "People can't be Trusted because they are subjective while machines are Objective" J.Baker I say if the extremely rich democrats want to save America all they need to do is buy up the voting machine companies like Diebold. Real true election Reform would take place in a hurry I would bet. Republicans would be falling all over themselves trying to "fix" the election irregularity crisis...

1. GOP "Truth" is a very subjective thing.Like their definition of "activist"

judges. When they disagree with the decision, the judges are "activist". When the GOP agrees with the decision, they are merely "strict constructionist".
The same thing applies to concepts such as states' rights, the sanctity of marriage, the sanctity of life, and all the other "principles" they spout like volcanoes spouting hot lava. Whichever view serves their purpose for the moment is the view they shout from the hilltops....for that day.

There is no such thing as a constant and consistent truth to these GOP slimebags.

Oceania was at war with Eurasia now, but just four years ago, these two had formed an alliance against Eastasia. Winston remembered this clearly, but it made no difference what he or any other individual remembered, for the Party said that Eurasia had always been the Enemy and what the Party said was the Truth. This, thought Winston, was the most frightening aspect of the party regime-that it could obliterate memory, turn lies into Truth and alter the Past. The Party slogan was “Who controls the past controls the future; who controls the present controls the past.” This was where “doublethink” came into play, minds were trained to hold contradictory positions simultaneously and unquestioningly- for example you had to believe at one and the same time that Democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy. Winston could remember a time when the Party did not rule, when Big Brother had not become all-powerful; but according to the Party they had always existed and this lie was repeated ad infinitum until it “became” the truth. This, Winston thought was a far more terrible weapon in the hands of the Party than torture or execution.

2. If dems owned the voting machine companies
all the publicity we've been seeking for voter fraud and manipulation would be front and center. Or at least it would be every time a dem won...

3. I would hope any Democrat would understand...
...that positive public perception of the voting apparatus is critical to democracy. I would hope they would be willing to go to extreme lengths to verify and publicly reveal the inner workings of every single sacred voting event, down to dogcatcher. To approach commercial voting systems any other way foments revolution -- Like So: (he points to Diebold/Triad/Sequoia, Karl Rove. Jeb Bush, and *). Arrgh. Down they go.
