My tinfoil moment
We just had a major devastation with Katrina.
We will be having another one this weekend with Rita.
Bush comes on TV with his entire staff yelling "terror terror".
What better time for a LIHOP/MIHOP than this weekend--especially with the demonstration in Washington?
I have a feeling that the only defining moment this weekend will NOT be Hurricane Rita.
And it is a bad feeling.:scared:

1. Anything to distract the media form the demonstrations against the war.
It is no longer "tinfoil hat" to assume the worst about BushCo.

2. I've got some extra strength tinfoil you can borrow
if you're almost out . . .

Actually the Rove reality and # 1 Law of Successful Political Damage Control:

Control the News Cycle. By Whatever Means Necessary. This is not tinfoil, though I sure wish it was.

I'm sure news managers and editors the country over have been tacitly reminded about those copies of photos they were shown some time ago of them fucking dead baby ducks, their botched tax returns, etc. . . . to "remind" them where their loyalty should lie.

3. For Bush to yell terror right now would be suicide.
People are already fed up with him nearly to the breaking point. That would push the people over the edge and they would demand his removal immediately. People can only take so much before they snap, and yelling terror now would certainly cause them to snap.

5. It's being reported in Houston that there are many that can't get out
just like in NO.
People are complaining of buying bus tickets that aren't any good as well as not having any gasoline. You have one of the largest cities in the world that can't evacuate it's population.
Do you think that Bushco is going to stand another failure like NO?
Hell no.
My tinfoil tells me by the end of the weekend we will have some semblance of martial law in place, at the very least, a media blackout.
There won't be any more bad news being reported.:scared:

8. troops
http://blogs.washingtonpost.com/earlywarning/2005/09/today_in_dc_com.html

Today, somewhere in the DC metropolitan area, the military is conducting a highly classified Granite Shadow "demonstration."

Granite Shadow is yet another new Top Secret and compartmented operation related to the military’s extra-legal powers regarding weapons of mass destruction. It allows for emergency military operations in the United States without civilian supervision or control.

A spokesman at the Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region (JFHQ-NCR) confirmed the existence of Granite Shadow to me yesterday, but all he would say is that Granite Shadow is the unclassified name for a classified plan.

9. The BFEE have proven they are capable of ANYTHING.
I've been thinking they may well cite "unrest" on the 24th to take some kind of action against what we all know WILL be a peaceful protest. :scared:

But LIHOP/MIHOP? I hate to admit it, but it's a definite possibility too.... :tinfoilhat: :scared:

Damn them! Damn them! ALL TO HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nobody will sue you. Sorry, I can't search it tonight to help out.

I forgot what BFEE means, if it's any consolation.

16. There have been articles fron DHS about Katrina etc putting us
at greater risk for terror attacks as well. So the seed has been planted.

And ** won't be in DC this weekend, will he?

18. Either that, or "merely" a threat
In the past, a threat would have been enough to get the media salivating. Maybe not so much now. But you are right. Something will hit the front pages over the weekend.
