This is getting silly...Isn't obvious to THEM |
|
We have not had an alert for 1 1/2 years, NOW we have had to 'scares' in less than a week, being told they foiled 10 in the past year, Bushit's ratings are in the toilet bowl, we have Delay & Frist indicted or under investigation, awaiting indictments on Plame and his SCOTUS nomination is being questioned by Thugs.....Are the RW STUPID?
BTW did I miss something else?

13. hmm. the bird flu seemed to coincide with |
|
...the desire to use military force if a flu outbreak occured, which also coincided well with that Tularemia discovery at the Washinton Peace Protest.
Am I the only one who find this disturbing?

They love playing the freak-out game. Since we know the color scheme and all that b.s. has nothing to do with reality, guess who's causing fear and panic for political purposes?
Hint: it's not the ones we're fighting.

6. Ahhh...you're forgetting the campaign! |
|
Every time Bush took a dip of 5 points, a new alert went out.
But you're correct about the Wrong Wingers. They won't connect it in any way shape or form.

We had an alert during or following the Democratic Convention last year. Keith Olberman talked about this yesterday. In an hours time they came up with 13 "coincidences" about this.

8. Another thing that seems to cap-off the march of stupidity is when |
|
Bush gave his Thursday "shoring-up" speech. He gave it in the middle of the morning when he was guaranteed the smallest audience he could get. Either his masters didn't want anyone to see his speech or they wanted to avoid the embarrassment of having reruns of Beverly Hillbillies beat Dimya in the ratings...

10. Agreed about RW stupid, but disagreed about recent scares |
|
One of the fundamental tenets of asymmetrical warfare (technical term for terrorists' approach) is that people have short attention spans and become complacent if nothing happens for a while.
Those who would attack this country see that as a weakness that can be exploited as long as they are patient and plan well. We know that because they have said it explicitly. Such statements were a primary recruiting tool for bin Laden in the 1990s.
I don't know how many of the recent scares are based on real information and how many are politically inspired, but I do know that there are Islamofascists who would detonate a nuke in an American city (or undertake a similar high-profile attack) if they could. Whether or not this can be done I leave for others to debate. In any case, complacency can only encourage the nutcases. I prefer to see occasional reminders in the media that there are people working to detect and interdict any attackers...it sends the right message.
Peace.

that terrorism is real and we are hated.
I guess we will never entirely know when the threat is real. And think about that. THAT, all by itself, is one reason to get the rascals out of there. They figured out after all the adulation post 911 that this could be one way to keep us begging for protection. Keep us cowed and scared and we'll agree to anything. How ironic that they are using the terrorists very weapon: terror. But I think we are becoming hardened to it.
Now, when the next huge event hits maybe that will change, but I don't know. I think we are rapidly becoming desensitized, both by the actual 911 event, and the war casualties, and all the hurricane casualties.
Life is precious, but perhaps freedom (ours, not Iraq's!) and liberty are more precious.

11. The really sad part is |
|
we don't trust the threat warnings anymore. What will we do when it is real and there is something we should be doing for our protection? "Cry Terra" has replaced 'Cry Wolf". The RWingers are mad about it to, M Savage was going on about it being bullshit last night on his show. Can't they see their regime has no credibility anymore?

I have no doubt that there is a real problem. We can certainly debate that we have made the world situation worse with the invasion of Iraq, BUT I agree. IF we ever have a REAL problem most of the country would not listen...One hell of a commentary on our 'leadership'.

17. Well, on the up side... |
|
Things are going swimmingly in iraq. We learned that decreasing the combat ready Iraqi battallions from 3 to 1 is actually increasing their ability to take over!!! The law of "less is more" is still in play.
